Help for picking a side for Gilded Vale Quest "Lord of a Barron Land"...

I tried to but help Lord Raedric and also Kolsc, and honestly I don't know which side suits my paladin's benevolent and passionate nature more. I know its not complete black / white, which is why it's hard for me to pick a side. I don't know if Kolsc is actually planning on usurping the throne or not, and lord raedric does seem like he wants to try find a cure after all.

In any case, when I kill Kolsc it said I lost a lot of reputation with Gilded Vale yet I become a "Defender" status with "(Extremely Good)" next to it. Is it a bug that it said I lost rep or the other side of the spectrum is not hate and in fact Defender?

Any light on these topics / questions would be greatly appreciated friends :)

I'can't understand why so many ppl struggle in this "choice" or even debate who to chose as benevolent (or the best option) ruler for Gilded Vale. Raederic is a cruel murderer, he hangs ppl for simply being a cipher or cuz they sired a hollowborn. If let Raedric do, the only left inhabitants of gilded vale will ultimately either be hanging from that tree or being experimented upon in his dungeons.

Kolsc is not perfect, he seems to be motivated more by power and money, yet he's not cruel and has no intention on further terrorize simpe folk (infact his first action of the day is to remove the hanging corpses from the tree).

Also, if you chose Kolsc you will get the rank of "champion" with "overwhelmingly good" reputation in gilded vale.

Yeah, walk around Raedric's castle for a bit. Lots of illuminating stuff there.

And it really does not matter if Raedric wants to find the cure: he is killing people at this point out of desparation. The tree with the hanged peopel should show clearly enough how well his search is going.

Raedric set the bar so low, that even someone like Kolsc should be able to do better than him.
