Can't talk to Record Keeper (Fragments of a Scattered Faith)

So I can't progress Edérs quest because I cannot speak to the Record Keeper, he just has a speech bubble...

I've reputation Hero with Defiance Bay, Edér was present while killing Maerwald. Every prerquisite should be there...

How do I initiate the conversation where Edér suggests going to the hall of records?

What's wroooong? I need to sacrifice Edér but not before I squeeze out every last bit of juicy XP from him.

Strange, the conversation should appear right after you leave the keep, while exiting Caed Nua after Maerwald. You should have seen a bubble over Eder's portrait and he should have talked about his brother (generally while you are still inside Caed Nua, just outside the keep), triggering the visit to the archives.

Did you by chance remove Edèr from your party right after killing Maerwald? Because that's the time when his quest should have advanced.

I did not, because I specifically remember travelling to Defiance Bay and then switching him there. I'll try and run around a bit in Cad Nua and see if it triggers. Thanks for the response :)

OMG lol, I could force the dialogue, didn't know that button even existed. Usually the speech option is on the character portrait so I never looked farther. I'd just "simulated" the trek to First Fires with Edér. Haha, thanks for your help :P
