Ironskin spell
"This effect lasts for up to ten attacks."
"+8 DR until hit or critically hit"

So does the spell against 10 hits or 1 hit?
Why are the description so not clear?

I guess it means that the effect will last until *you* attack 10 times. Unless you get hit and then it's gone immediately afterwards.
In case of doubt, test it yourself. It should last until you've been hit/crit 10 times. Using the spell/potion alone isn't worthwhile in my opinion. If at all, combine it with a Deflection boost, so you try to avoid hits/crits and get +8 DR for any grazes.

If the enemy crits you on the first attack then ironskin is used. So it can be 1 hit or 10 hits, it's all about the dice rolls. I still believe that description is very clear.

It is actually not clear enough because it is not consistent with the same descriptions for other spells. But yeah, as Damarr mentioned earlier it provides damage reduction for the first 10 hits/crits that you get and then it expires. While its damage reduction value may not seem like much it stacks with the damage reduction of your armor.

There are few spells/potions which last for specific period (or like Ironskin for 10 incoming attacks) but can expire premearly if the caster is hit or crit by an enemy. Those spells can give you advantage and made you nearly impossible to hit, if you can stack up enough bonuses to your defens stats. Ironskin is reducing additional damage from incoming attacks, but can expire after first hit you get, but if you are only grazed by the attack, then the spell is still working. Wizard's Double works the same way. It gives you 40 deflection, so you are harder to beeing hit or crit, so the spell will last if you are grazed by attacks but any succesful hit or crit can strip you from that protection spell.

No, this is wrong information.

Iron Skin does not expire with the first hit/crit. It lasts for 10 hits/crits and provides damage reduction for the entire period - i.e. its damage reduction effect dissappears on the tenth hit/crit.

You can easily check it ingame.

It functions very differently from Wizard's Double in this regard.

There are a lot of obscure mechanics that are not explained very well in their descriptions.

Yeah, I see that now. Description of the Ironskin spell is wrong then. With spells/potions which effect lasts until caster being hit or crit it seemed to be reliable tooltip but it isn't.

There is another interesting and more powerful ability with wrong tooltip - cipher's Psychic Backlash. Description says it can occure once per combat, but It's unlimited. It can permastun dragons (because of their aura of fear). Combined with Brutal Backslash you are practically untouchable for dragons or death guards.

Yes! It is situational but in dragon fights it's amazing. Also works on drakes and cean gwla.
It's not clear whether this effect was intentionally meant to work like this by the developers but it works in the current build :)
Very handy for a cipher.
