How long is The White March?
I'm curious about it, but don't want to get too distracted from the main story. How many hours is each part of it? And what would you say is the recommended level? I'm at nine.

It's level 6-8 for the first part, but you are not locked into the expansion. You may travel freely forth and back between the expansion areas and the base game. At level 10 you would be considered high-level for the beginning and would get a content upscaling dialog.

About the distraction, oh well, that cannot be avoided.

if you got both parts its about as long as the basegame itself. roughly 30-40 hours.

base game is like 70hrs though.
WM is around 30-35hrs I'd say.
Whole game takes around 100 hrs if you try to do everything.

But depends on difficulty you play as well.
Combat takes longer on higher difficulties usually.

this sounds about right, for a first playthough. were you read and play most content.

but depending on who are as a player. you can add or subtract 5-10 hours.

So should I do WM at level 8 or so?

If you enjoy combat - you should go there at level 9 and upscale difficulty.
