White March Expansion - HOW TO ACCESS THE ROYAL EDITION CONTENT?

Own the regular PoE version.
Wanted to get the Expansion Pass with the new discount. However I also see a Definitive Edition now which costs twice as much as buying the Expansion Pass.

Help me figure this out and choose.

Additionall I noticed a 1.4 GB patch was downloaded today. Quite a lot, what does it do?

If you already have the base game, buying the expansion pass will upgrade you to Definitive Edition. The patch is the update that was released alongside the new free DLC; it's just big because of the way the files are organised making it hard to do delta updates.

Thank you for the clarification.
So by not doing a "delta update" I assume you mean it has to download already existing files (parts of the game) in order to overwrite and apply the patch. So I am not actually adding 1.4 extra GB - because some stuff overlaps, correct?

I have just bought the Expansion pass for 52 ILS (15$!) and I couldn't be happier about the price. Glad I waited so far.
Now it just downloaded- what I can only assume is - an additional 4.4 GB of additional content.

I would say go Definitive as you get all the extras. Loving Whitemarch. You should get it.

I would say go Definitive as you get all the extras. Loving Whitemarch. You should get it.

You don't need to buy the Definitive Edition to get the extras if you already have the base game- buying the White March expansion will upgrade it automatically- at least that's how it's supposed to work; there is a bug right now that seems to be preventing this.

EDIT: My apologies, it isn't preventing the upgrade to Definitive Edition, the Royal Edition extras just seem to not be downloading for some reason.

I did the same thing as you are: I own the (Kickstarter) PoE base game. I just bought the pass last night, and I am downloading right now.

I think you will have everything in the definitive if you do as I have done. (Just own the base game regardless of kickstarter backer or bought on steam release)

I will restart steam shortly and see if all the DLC has downloaded correctly as well.

how i know if i have the definitive edition? i have both expansion and the base game but i dont see anywhere if i have that version

How do I access the Royal Edition content? The Soundtracks, the artworks, the making of, the map, strategy guide etc ?

I have both the main game + Expansion pass. And Steam says I also have the Royal Edition content and the Pre-order and pet content.
How do I access anything seen here? (under Royal Edition):

No news on the fix yet. We're all waiting.

The game folder is 24 gigs in size, as if it downloaded the extra content, yet it can't be seen. I've never encountered such an issue before in Steam or, anywhere else really. *sigh*

What was it before?
24 gb sounds reasonable for game+2 expansions.

Any news from the developers?
Can we finally access that Royal content or was this false marketing???
Because right now I have the base game+expansion pass and none of those goodies and I feel mislead here..
