Looking for a good tank build (White March 1+2)
I havent played PoE for a long time, and i have read that a lot has changed with white march part 1+2.

Is there any "Best" tanker class/race combo ?
And what are the stats i should go for ?

many classes can tank effectively, there are also many kind of tanks.

For example a monk can tank decently while doing a LOT of damage, but he wont have the highest defences ( until your cipher gets the highest defence for whole party spell).
Paladins and chanters can tank and get good to very good defences and support the party.
Rogues have such high damage modifiers from their class that they can get a lot of tanking talents and stats.
Mages can selfbuff to be a really good tank and still cast CC spells.
Ciphers can be tanks by disabling everyone around them.

etc etc, the game is really open regarding builds, they did a good job in the end.

That really sounds interresting :)
One big problem with many builds is that they reach their goal only at high levels when the set of talents and bonuses from equipment gets closer to completion. Until then, you strictly need to know how to play them effectively, how to support them within the party, what companions to add to the party and how to advance through the game. It is not as if you can jump into the fray on PotD mode with "a tank" without risks. Lots of building decisions are a matter of taste. Moon Godlike healing may sound nice and all, but you really need to be happy with that feature for a very long time and accept it that you couldn't benefit from another race's abilities instead.

I'll list 3 types of tanks for you:

Fighter Tank (Orlan or Pale Elf):
10MIG/10CON/3DEX/17PER/18/INT/20RES
I can hear you say "but only 10 con?" yes, fighters are the class with the most deflection in the game (I have 100 at level 5), they don't need con to tank they just need resolve and they can do a bit of damage too, fighters are pretty much immortal but they are a arrogant class, they don't care about the team, you don't have any strong cc's or buff, so if you are planning to use a fighter keep a control mage in your team, Aloth is a good choice.

Monk Tank (Fire Godlike):
19MIG/18CON/4DEX/10PER/10INT/17RES
CON is really important for the Monk because it's his fuel to produce damage, the more you lose the more you can do damage, the good thing about the monk is that they have a lot of good cc's even in the start of the game, but their deflection is something to worry about, so get some good equipments for him fast.

Paladin Tank (Fire Godlike or Moon Godlike):
18MIG/15CON/4DEX/3PER/20INT/18RES
They can tank well, they are not immortal like the fighters are but they can heal and buff your party, so INT is important because you will expand your area of effect and the duration of your buffs to the party.

Those are min-max builds designed for the POTD difficult, if you are planning on playing the game on hard or normal you can change some of the stats, for example, I'm playing on hard (because I'm using the in game companions) my fighter tank has 12MIG/10CON/4DEX/17PER/17INT/18RES and I'm using a more offensive build and he is tanking pretty well.
