Looking for a good tank build (White March 1+2)
I havent played PoE for a long time, and i have read that a lot has changed with white march part 1+2.

Is there any "Best" tanker class/race combo ?
And what are the stats i should go for ?

That's a build from April 2015. Attributes and other things in the game have changed since then.

Read the second link I posted from the same thread, the guy there goes into deep detail about the difference between wild orlan, aumaua and moon godlike for this build

Yes, and it confirms that the original build instructions are no longer valid.

I don't find that Monks are the best tanking class. The Wounds mechanic suggests they should be, but unless you use a shield you won't get your deflection high enough to significantly reduce damage or justify an investment in Resolve. They also don't have the best starting deflection, so it's hard to get that to high levels.

To that end I find Paladins are the best tanking class. Sure they don't have the best starting deflection, but they have Faith and Conviction which really helps defenses as they start getting bonuses to their favored dispositions. They also have more tanking oriented abilities. Take a look at the tanking Paladin builds. Fighters also work well if you want a more offense oriented tank since they have that ability that reduces the recovery penalty from armor and they start with a 30 deflection.

Be aware that none of the tanking builds work well out of the gate, until you get some decent armor and the first or second tier enchantments, you just can't get to that point where the enemy attacks can't crit you anymore (unless you're a Wizard) and your DR is soaking up a reasonable amount of what is left. So you might want to consider speccing your tanks for DPS until the end of Act 1 and then making use of the respec feature to switch to something more defensive.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write all this, if i spec my tank for dps. will he still be able to take enough punishment and stay a live? i remember having a pala tank before white march 1+2 and he had a hard time in the beginning even as he was pure tank build

Pallys got continuously buffed from first release, so you might be pleasantly surprised. As long you don't take a penalty to Constitution or Resolve and put yourself in brigandine (later full plate), you should be tanky enough for the first act. I would recommend using a 1-handed weapon with no shield and an accuracy bonus (Rapier, Dagger, Xaurip Spear) for most of the first act. Those spectral undead have unholy levels of deflection for low level enemies.

many classes can tank effectively, there are also many kind of tanks.

For example a monk can tank decently while doing a LOT of damage, but he wont have the highest defences ( until your cipher gets the highest defence for whole party spell).
Paladins and chanters can tank and get good to very good defences and support the party.
Rogues have such high damage modifiers from their class that they can get a lot of tanking talents and stats.
Mages can selfbuff to be a really good tank and still cast CC spells.
Ciphers can be tanks by disabling everyone around them.

etc etc, the game is really open regarding builds, they did a good job in the end.
