Cursor bug..
Cursor keeps going invisible when trying to use skills and spells.

It's visible normally but as soon as you click on a skill or spell it's invisible..
Started happening after going into the Endless paths and no matter how many times I restart the game it comes back on every single damn floor.

I've looked up this issue and it's been an problem for around half a decade... that's not good.
I don't have mouse trails or mods and it doesn't make a difference if the game is in windowed mode or full screen.
Don't know why this keeps happening but it's making me want to quit playing.

It may be a good idea to tell a bit about your hardware and software.

There may be a few other people who have experienced that, but I don't think it is a widespread common issue. I've played the game on a variety of different computers since day zero without any such problem. Also, the game has been updated many times since 2015, so ancient topics on the Internet may not be relevant anymore.

I don't think it's a hardware issue.. but ok.
I7-6700K 4.00GHz CPU
Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU
16GB RAM
Logitech G402 gaming mouse

All drivers are up to date as is the Game and it's running on Windows 10.
The game hasn't been modified in any way by me either, only additions it's had are legit updates and the White Marsh DLC's.
Fairly standard hardware and OS, and around time of release of PoE, many people were still using Windows 7, so...

I've searched a bit on Google and Obsidian's forum about mouse pointer turning invisible in PoE - or with Unity engine in general. Could find ancient topics from 2015 about the v1 series of PoE. Some workaround suggestions that were not 100% like playing in windowed mode rather than fullscreen (sounds odd, because fullscreen works well since 2015).

Someone claims an overlay used by EVGA Precision is the culprit, and turning that off fixes the symptoms.

As a side-note, "latest driver" doesn't imply "best". Not limited to Nvidia. In too many cases, players of various games must either upgrade OR downgrade depending on whether the driver is affected by regression or new bugs.

Yeah I found those same answers as well.
It doesn't make a difference if I play in Windowed or Fullscreen was getting the issue in both.

The one I saw a lot of when blaming issues was SLI mode.. but im not running multi GPU anyway so im not using anything like that.
Nor any Overlays unless there is some default one hidden away somewhere that I am not aware of.
I can't find any setting like that to disable though so i'm at a loss.

So far i've only had this issue in the Endless Paths, hopefully that's the only place i'll get it but it does make getting through that area more annoying.. basically have to shut the whole game off and reboot it to get my cursor back.
Reloading even from main menu doesn't fix it.
You don't even use Steam app's own overlay? Steam > Settings > In-Game ...

On the other hand, quitting the game program and restarting it is evidence of Unity engine related trouble with your mouse driver.

Not anymore no, I managed to pick up a trojan through the steam browser a little while back since it lacks the same protections as my main browser.. plus no adblock either so I stopped using the overlay, I don't trust it anymore plus it's inferior anyway.
No harm was done though never opened the file and my VPN quarantined it so got lucky there.

Guess it could be an issue with the engine not working with the driver.. but I dunno much about that stuff.
The issue hasn't resurfaced again the past few days.. though i've not been back down in the Endless paths either until about a hour ago and the bug didn't occur.

Though did find a funny new one, was climbing down a cliff and Aloth got yeeted off but was saved by Sagani who got a shoulder injury as a result.
But when I got control of my character again Sagani was fine and Pallegina had a messed up shoulder instead.. I dunno why but that amused the hell out of me XD
