Pillars of eternity definitive edition total size 60GB????
I recently downloaded pillars of eternity definitive edition from the epic game store, the download size was 22gb, but the total size once all downloaded and installed is 60GB... is correct or maybe more files than necessary were created by some mistake?

downloads are compressed: your 22 gigs download size once decompressed might become 60 gigs easily.

We got us another one, boys.

Get em!

Yea this game took up more space than I thought it would, one thing you can do is look in the game folder there is extras like wallpapers and other things that are probably not needed that you can delete and save a few gigabytes I guess

A fellow on reddit said that it's that size because the EGS launcher downloaded the game and then installed it, but didn't delete the uninstalled download files off of your hard drive. You'll notice that there's a data folder, then a px1 2 and 3, then a win folder with the actual executable in (which is the game itself).

The data and px folders are duplicates. Apparently they can be deleted to save yourself 30GB and the game will work fine, but no idea.

I was also surprised by the huge file size.
do you have a link to that reddit discussion?

I am not sure what you are downloading but the size of the game installers (including dlc's) is 11,0GB. Installed it is 23,5GB.

your game are installed in steam or epic? in reddit someone says that in the Steam folder the total size is 51 GB

Yes, someone messed up on the installed ,on steam its 50gb i believe, and my install from epic is 60 gb...to give you context, the Tyranny game which IS NEWER takes up slightly less space than the stated download for this one (which is 17gb)...pretty sure you can delete everything outside of the WIN folder and it should still work well...yet I have yet to try this...I think I will now though. as that is 43Gb savings.

yes i just did that leaving only the first small folder (in case of saves?) and the WIN folder, then I loaded up a save game...seems to work find, and my install is only 30gb now (probably can get this down a lot smaller too later).

I want to do the same, but i don't know if one these folders is going to create a problem for a missing file in an expansion

I reported this issue to the publisher. It is in progress. We have to wait.

There are more problems than just the size of the directory.

all the files for the expansion are fine when I deleted the folder...and yes you are also correct above that there is more wrong than just the size of the install...it's the version as well.

1. Pillars of Eternity base game version is out of date.
2. Label of PoE1 game version on the Epic Games platform is wrong.
3. Deadfire Pack DLC is not installed for PoE1.
4. In PoE1 there are redundant directories: px1, px2, px4 and data in root directory, which take up unnecessary 26.5 GB of memory.
5. No manual was added to the PoE1 game.
6. Label of Tyranny game version on the Epic Games platform is wrong.
7. Portrait Pack for Tyranny looks like it is not installed. I haven't seen the DLC icon in the game.
8. No files for 'Exclusive Coat of Arms' from Upgrade Pack for Tyranny.
