and look for the temple of Woedica, you will see a ghost, that will point you to another entrance. once you spoken to the lady, or get the info you need. You will get three new quests. then you need to choose a side. But it doesn't really matter too much on who you choose
The dozens, (HQ is in Copperlane)
knights of the crucible (first fires)
House Doemenel (Brackenbury)
be advised, that you can do the first quest from each faction, however doing the second quest for that faction will lock you into that faction, and you will not be able to do other quests for other factions of the city. So I would check online for what rewards you can get, and if it fits with your playstyle.
For example, the second quest for the Knights gives you a weapon that marks, which increases accuracy. the dozens second quest has a spear that you can enchant, probably one of the best options is to add marking on that. I'm not sure what House Doemenel gives in terms of rewards, as I never sided with them.
But there are quite a few quests to do in that city, and Ondra's Gift is a good place as well for quests, like the The Wailing Banshee (near the lighthouse to start that)
Most of the sidequests do stem from the main quest that ^ mentions, so if you're putting that off, you might just want to start there and then see where the branches lead you.
honestly not a fan of all the useless named npc's either. just hit 1,1 if you accidentally click on one
hmm i got an idea just now. maybe i'll try to do a playthrough where I kill each and every single last one of these guys...
You can get to Caed Nua by going due east from Gilded Vale. Stay on the main roads in general to mostly avoid combat -- the game does kind of expect you'll eventually come back and clear areas out at higher levels. There's a cleric on the southeast road in Magran's Fork, which it sounds like you were probably close to finding before those wolves, and a tanky chanter at the walls of Caed Nua. Also now's as good a time as ever to hire an extra adventurer at the inn if you can afford it.
