If you don't like to play it in the first run you can do and keep a save game prior of the non-return point and then reload it when ready to play WM too.
If the DLC is just late/mid game add-on stuff, then I won't bother as I might dislike the game but if it adds content that i'll be using from the start, then i'll give it a go. Which one is it?
The game is worth getting with the expansions. plus with the level cap raise. new gear that helps. I haven't done every quest in the first city, and there is a second city to go to at the start of act 3. So the game is big, and the expansions add even more.
I would suggest been level 7 + to do WM1, and don't leave it too late. While you can do it later, and the difficulty can be upscaled,(which is a choice you can enable, or leave it at base values) I read that this might make some stuff really hard. (especailly for a new player)
Once I done WM1, I might do two, or do some quests else where and come back? but I still got a lot of content in the base game to do. So will be a while before I get to chapter 3.
So anyway, get the game with both expansions, and you won't regret it.
Apparently PoE 2 fixed this, is there a patch for PoE 1? Apparently it has better story.
But Im not sure if you get the good stuff in the early parts without owning the DLCs.
Game's pretty cheap but I remember when I was a kid and every penny meant something.
It's also kinda messed up that a game as old as this isnt at some permanent discount when they actually gave it away for free some months ago for a promotion in Epic-Store.
Artificial scarcity through digitization should be regulated if piracy is to remain illegal. But that's an other topic.
There is combat ai(you might have to turn it on manually, can't remember).
Phew! Glad to hear that, thanks!
