Steam Achievements Not Unlocking
Hoping someone can help me with this.

My Steam achievements are not unlocking for PoE & WM I. I realized this last night when I recruited all three new companions and opened the gate to Durgan's Battery without any pop-ups. It also made me realize how much I like earning achievements

No, I have not cheated. However, I do hit the tab and esc keys quite often and may have hit the tilde key and opened up the console. I'm hoping that alone does not disable achievements (that'd be pretty awful for frantic players like me).

Double thanks!

I thought ya had to do something special to even have the Console key to work (aka defaulted off/unusable)?
Yes, a special console command is needed to disable achievements:

Generally, I'm not aware of any achievement failing to work. Various people have unlocked all of them without problems since 2016 - even if playing offline.

Start with verifying your local installation files using the Steam app games library right-click menu.

Also, since you've unlocked achievements in 2015 and 2017, do you refer to a new playthrough or an old savegame you've continued with?

It's an old save that I continued playing.
Try again with a new playthrough then.

If you've ever disabled achievements as outlined in the Wiki, that state gets stored in the savegame file. You cannot undo that.

I wouldn't have disabled achievements on purpose.

I validated the files. All good.

Are you sure starting a new playthrough is the best answer here? I've put over 100 hours into this one. Can't you check my save file or something? Sounds like a bug on Steam's end to me.
Well, I've never used the console before, and I cannot check any savegame files either.

For tech support, there's the official forum where you've posted already. Posting in multiple places at the same time about exactly the same topic usually is frowned upon.

A developer may be able to examine a savegame file uploaded to a public place and check internal state variables.

The Steam app is smart enough to unlock achievements even if playing offline and to transfer the data to your account once you switch to online mode again. No common issue with the achievements is known. Even at Google one only finds a very few topics and false positives.

I'll post in as many places as I can until someone can help me. And I'll be honest, I don't appreciate your attitude.

I can forward you MULTIPLE instances of this happening to several different players. A quick Google search will show you that I am not the only this has happened to.

Bad customer service is also frowned upon ;)

Ah, touchy then? Tell more!

Have you read through them all? Are they from early 2015 or after the v1, v2 and v3 patch series?

Huh? Customer service? Here in the forum you talk to other customers.
Semantics, my friend. Why reply to me at all if you weren't willing to help? Thanks for trying, I suppose.

Someone who tells me "I don't appreciate your attitude" doesn't appear in a friendly way.

It is a public forum where everyone is free to give feedback. I've given you feedback as one of the regulars here since the 2015 pre-ordering days. In case I would have been late with my comment, somebody else would have confirmed that no common issue with the achievements is known. Rare cases would need to be examined first or have been troubleshot before. And as you can see, there has been helpful feedback about your console theories, too. With that confirmation that achievements work well with this game, make the best out of it. Upload a savegame - they are .ZIP archives under the hood - to some public place and post a link in the official tech support forum. It may take some time for a developer to take a look at it. Or search for more direct customer support channels via email or issue trackers.

Do just shove <something broken> in the faces of people walking down the street? "Here, fix this."

Sound advice.

It's often considered rude because it IS inconsiderate (to other in the community) for someone to inflitrate forums with multiple posts off the same thing.

How is this an attitude problem *at all* in your eyes? Many many MANYdevelopers disapprove of doing exactly what you're doing. For someone to relay this info and you to get upset over something trivial, yet informative, is shallow.

OP, when people suggest you about tech support is not bad advice absolutely.
In Obsidian forums you can report the issue and workers can help you much better than gamers here like said D´amarr. Here we are customers like you and is not members of Obsidian or community manager that move topics to official forums of devs. , etc.

@McCloud: xDDDD
With that you remember me the scene of Futurama and Fry all the time to people:

hey, smell this milk.

Haha. Good night!

Exactly same issue here. None of the archievements activate for me. Totally new installation and new game.
I'm not using Steam overlay but that hasn't stopped other games.
But then again those are just archievements, so no biggy.

Same deal here. New install a few months ago, fully patched, worked for the first couple then just stopped working completely. Never used console or anything like that.

I figured out what I was doing wrong. I pinned the application icon to the taskbar and launched it that way. Apparently this bypasses Steam so it wasn't capturing my play time at all.
