You can play Mystic Quest on a SNES emulator.

If that were possible, the game would show it as an option.

What you can do at the stone circle - and when - depends on your path through the game.

@ D'amarr: One thing I am always reminded of when I find a player like yourself is that you could play a game like this all the through and with 1 character, which even if I was a lot younger I could not accomplish that.
It is a bit frustrating javing to use auto combat with human input and not being able to not do that. I might with time be able to play normal and even not use auto combat but that will take some time. For me its the playing that is the thing and so I wil keep at it.
Anyone, who likes the game enough, can solo it. Read on to understand my perspective. This can be important, because I don't bragg.

The game is amazingly well balanced even for soloing. Not only do you get +10% experience points per missing companion, the game also implements fleeing from combat. And while fleeing far enough stops combat, fleeing a bit more carefully causes enemies to return to their starting location after some distance between you and them is reached. Effectively you can separate 1-2 enemies from a group and fight them alone instead of getting surrounded by the full group.

My personal tale about soloing Pillars of Eternity doesn't change. It is a worthwhile playing experience with this game while it may be much more awkward with other games.

No special player skill is required. Just some prior knowledge of the game as to avoid nasty surprises. Some do it after a couple of playthroughs already and rely on notes they have taken. Others do it earlier and look up most things online in guides, walkthroughs, character build discussions, the Wiki and even videos. However, since Steam offline mode doesn't record any playtime, and Steam online mode also records the total time a game is paused and minimized in the background while the computer user is busy/distracted with something else, one cannot conclude safely how much someone has played a game actually before unlocking a Steam achievement. And there is more than one solution anyway.

Originally, I've been one of those who believed a solo run in this game might be much too tedious. That it would require too much patience and kiting enemies, particularly the boss enemies, for a long or very long time while trying to hit them with a bow. To kite dangerous enemies endlessly is something I don't even like to do in action games. Hit-and-run raids are something different. They can be fun.

Anyway, during ordinary party based playthroughs with different main characters and hired adventurers, eventually one should notice what individual characters are capable of. For example, you send forth a quick Monk while the remaining companions stay in safe distance and observe how the Monk defeats multiple enemies without trouble. Even more so on Easy or Normal difficulty mode. You ask yourself how far you would come with a solo Monk? Or you notice how a Paladin can increase the four defenses a lot and survive well even if engaged by multiple enemies.
And as I try to enjoy a game without reading guides and without braggarts poisoning my mind with their cheap talk about allegedly "overpowered" character builds, choosing Easy mode with a solo Monk is where I had started eventually. Just out of curiosity. Not with the intention of unlocking any special achievement.
Everyone, who has played the game before, knows that Caed Nua is the first roadblock. One has to defeat Maerwald for the game to continue. As long as one doesn't find a way to reach and defeat Maerwald, one is restricted to the few areas around Gilded Vale and the few quests to level up. So, the mission objective is clear. Limited options to gain XP and money. You can level up a few times only. Whatever talents and skills your character may learn, it must include ideas for how to handle the spirits of Caed Nua and Maerwald.
Deciding where to sneak and avoid battles and where to fight doesn't require any player skill, but at most trial-and-error playing. Those are simple decisions, such as to not enter the Valewood bear cave early, but give it a try later, perhaps much later.

And when encountering multiple enemies at once, fleeing doesn't require any skill. I mean, you scout ahead in sneak mode, perhaps come too close, combat starts, and the obvious choice is to flee to end combat mode again. That works even better with the boots that increase move speed or a Chanter's phrase to achieve the same and if using the summoning figurine to get the help from an Animat. The step to split-pulling one or two enemies from a group may require a little bit of practice, but not really any player skill, becauses fleeing too quickly ends combat, making it safe - except for the very few battles in the game where combat doesn't stop before you've defeated everyone. Hey!
