Eder's Quest ending - is that it? (spoilers)
So...I just completed Eder's quest ("Fragments of a Scattered Faith"), using Grieving Mother in the field where I dug up the standard headpiece. GM did her thing, we peered into the past, we saw Eder's brother marching here, marching there, meeting Waidwen, etc.

And in the end, Eder's response is basically, "yeah, I already knew all that. What did Waidwen say to him?" And my answer is "dunno". And that's the end of the quest. Eder is pissed off and I can't blame him.

Is that really all there is to this quest? No closure? No reward? ("Yes", according to the gamepedia wiki.) Does anybody know if there are other possible resolutions out there? What if I were playing an Eothasian priest, for example?

if i remember correctly, there is at least one "follow up" conversation with eder a bit later. not sure what triggers it. maybe it's automatic a few days after the end of his quest. guess he needed some days to process the news or something.

don't know if there is an alternate ending depending on the PC background/class.

Ive been a cipher at that part, only class I could think of that might have a better chance than asking a different cipher. As far as I can tell, thats just how the quest ends. He gets an unsatisfactory answer, no closure and thats that.

It's kind of a running theme throughout the game, in both the main questline and companion quests, that "things are what you make of them." A lot of people are seeking answers, and the answers you find aren't always what you expected or wanted. What that MEANS to you is largely a matter of perspective and outlook.

I have no issue with the quest ending non conclusively and even thought it was a nice bitter sweet tone.

The issue with this quest was how lazily it was handled. I expect the companion quests generally were much lower priority. The one for Aloth was terrible, reduced to an inane psychodrama.

I had the same question about Eders quest few weeks ago here. And after Iv asked, then local ogres arrived with couldrons and started to make horible noise...

Yes, this quest is somehow... unfinished... like.. dunno.. is very wierd... the same for Sagani.
