Lle a Rhemen

I am playing a Paladin and decided to side w/ the knights order. When I traveled to the Wooden Plains , I couldn't find the Giant Slayers at their normal spot, ( by the wagon). I checked the whole area but no Giant Slayers. So I can't get the adra stone to enter the ruins. I have played before and and have never run into this before. I am already in act 2, does it matter that I did not enter the ruins? And what happened to the Giant slayers ?
