Do You Lose Anything By Respeccing?
So I haven't played this in awhile, but for some reason I remember reading that you could potentially lose a level one ability/skill point when respeccing at inns (It may even have been POE II and not the first). Are there any issues or lost points by respeccing your character(s) in this game? Thanks.

I've done it a couple times and never noticed anything. Maybe it used to be buggy in the early days or something, but it doesn't sound like it should be an issue now. Worst case scenario save before doing it.

In Poe 2 at initial release there was a bug where you'd lose the skill points you get from NPCs in the world who teach you (tons of NPCs can give you bonus points in certain skills if you pay them). But it's no longer there. So you're safe to respec in 1 and 2

Yes, you can potentially lose a lot if you are respeccing a mage.

As you might already know in PoE mages have 2 ways to learn new spells 1) from level-up (free-of-charge); 2) from found/looted grimoirs (costs money).

If you respec a mage his spell memory gets wiped. You get a chance to pick spells at level-up, but those learnt from grimoirs will be gone.

Loot does not dissappear in the game, so even if you sold all grimoirs you will still be able to buy them back from vendors, but it may be time consuming and quite pricey.

So the best solution is to keep the grimoirs you might need for respeccing in your stash. But even in that case you will still have to pay for learning spells from them.

Good rule of thumb is to never sell any Grimoire, keep your options open.

You could always use the <playername> <attributename> <amount> to fix it.
Set an attribute of a target to value X e.g. "AttributeScore Player Might 18" - will give the player character a base Might score of 18).

Sure about that?

There's only a display bug in the GUI related to not showing the bonus for cultural background properly before choosing it.
