Vision Range too Short, Fog of War ring too Tight
Is there any way to increase your range of sight as well as expand the radius of detection?
Additionally is it possible to increase the range beyond which the darkened fog of war starts?

I find POE range of vision and detection way too short.
Enemies constantly get the drop on you and appear out of thin air.
This gets worse by the fact that your ranged weapons and spells reach is way too short. And explosions and AoE radius is also narrow.

Which makes exploring and wandering around towns restrictive, slow and claustrophobic.
And planning tactical strikes and ambush enemies harder.

I read old threads from 2015, a lot of people complained about that. Surprised the developers didn't address the issue at all....

Coming from Baldur's Gate ( which I played many years ago) everything feels smaller and vision range way too short.
Wish it was possible to tweak with sliders.

Use Party Scouting mode and Slow mode more often. No need to invest into Stealth skill for that. The early complainers have ignored Scouting mode as far as I remember and have turned on Fast mode because they wanted to rush through the game areas impatiently.

AoE is affected by the Intellect attribute.

Range of attacks with ranged weapons or spells is limited by design and for balancing reasons. Bow men would be too strong. Basically, even with the game default you can cast various area spells to hinder attackers from quickly getting closer, and meanwhile your ranged attackers pick them off.

In towns you don't need to move carefully. Unless you've made enemies and if you're moving through a town at night. Then be more careful. Party Scouting mode will be enough.

I second using scouting mode, and the load hints say so as well. I don't even put points into stealth and I can usually see enemies early enough to prepare or back off. The short sight range is intended to drop fights on you if you don't use scout mode. (Personally, I use fast mode with scouting mode to make exploring faster without getting ambushed.)

Unfortunately I am already aware of this. Also SLOW PLUS SCOUTING beats the purpose of this thread, nd makes it much worse. These ideas don't really solve the issues I have brought up. They are part of the problem or off topic.

Thanks

Yes . Lesser evil this is exactly what I do in dungeons. Fast+Scout. (Which also help finding traps and secrets).
But I still don't like the super short sightedness of your party... It's really a huge step back from games like BG and makes everything more slow, distracting and complicated than it should be..
Range of party vision and detection should be much higher. Spells and ranged weapons also.
And fog of War less tight
In BG you've had to move slowly and carefully, because FindTraps is triggered only each round.

In PoE, you adjust your party formation to put your mechanic at the front, and then you can scout ahead efficiently. With regard to being detected, you can rely on the indicator shown on your character's circle. As soon as it starts filling yellow, be careful, and possibly increase the distance again.

@OP: The comments made were not made to help you do what you seem to be unwilling to do: Use the tools within the game to solve the exploration problems. Like mny players complain about wanting the game to play the way they see it no the way they way the is designed to work.
This is not your average RTS with Combat pause game. It doesn't use many of the other standard ruiles like potions, player stats and combat .. I have sowething like 500 hrs and I am just now starting to understand the game. Like many players you want a game to play in a certain defined way. The only thing to do if a game doesn't play the way you want it to play is:
DO NOT PLAY IT
