I am trying to solve this quest but I can'r seem to get the right dilogue choices as He attacks every time and I die. Is there a stat that has to be at or am I missing somwething.

Yes ...I didn't have a problem in the last game(easy level) After I tell him I am a watcher he attack's my party is mostly level 9.

The only way to solve the quest without fighting is to have a Resolve of 17 My basic stats from top to bottom are 15-17-12-10-15--13. With a res of 13 the only way is to rebuild the character and I can do it in any Inn but how?

Is that base Resolve? You can get +3 if resting at Caed Nua with Brighthollow Inn fully reconstructed. You can get more bonuses with items - even +2 as a crafting option, such as by enhancing some ordinary armor.
