Royal edition upgrade worth it?
I just bought the hero edition through the latest Humble bundle. For $7 I couldn't pass it up. Unfortunately I can only get the Royal edition upgrade for USD $40. Is it worth it? Has anyone else taken the plunge? It seems quite steep a price for just a bunche of PDFs, book, documentary, ringtones, and wallpapers. I may just wait a while for a sale. I'm mainly interested in the wallpapers, book and documentary.

There should be sale next month, so I'd wait for that. However I can't be certain if Pillars will be on sale. Otherwise I'm not sure the extra content is worth it, since most of it you can find online for free

Hi. Only if you are really interesed in process of creation about lore (world, characters, religions,...) of game and interest you too the critical situation of Obsidian prior project and how was the process of creation , campaign and success (this is in documentary).

Otherwise , I would say you that no.

If you purchase both White March part I and II, PoE will automatically be upgraded to the Royal Edition. So I recommend not getting that Royal Edition but only the White March expansion pass.

The White March I and II are great DLCs. You can think about that suggestion of Tim.

Thanks for your help. I'll wait for a sale on White March and/or the Royal edition upgrade.

Will the DLC get a bigger discount then 40% this lunar or summer sale?
It has been down to -50% before last year: --> https://steamdb.info/sub/75481/

Yea and they back to 40% on sale again this year XD
What do you hope for? Guarantees?

You may need to check shops other than Steam for higher discounts. Or wait for the release of PoE 2 and see what that may change.

Dunno how PoE2 would lower it as the pub is different. It isn't Paradox, so I would expect decent prices much later on stuff.

OP, I agreed withD´amarr, I doubt more great discount in that sense you maybe expect. The bigger discounts have been applied. You can wait to holidays and similar, of course, but I think the biggest deal is done.
I receive a newsletter and since yesterday in GOG there is a 25 % discount in Definitive Edition.
"PoE: Definitive Edition includes two expansions and all DLC content – now 25% off"

25 % is not a bad. See you.

Huh? Why would the publisher be of importance? Have you noticed that you get various game packages as a Fig backer of PoE 2 already?

Not PoE2 publ, PoE1 pub Paradox.

Or have you never noticed how Paradox prices? Pretty recurring pricing among all the games they publish. Anyways I wasn' tbeing agressive so hopefully nobody gets defensive. It is just another reason why with Paradox anything it is better to wait for complete package than to say buy a base game in advance.

Though I don't think I need to worry about PoE2. First of all they actually are regionally pricing the game here. Secondly I think after 3 years the DLC for PoE2 will rech over 40%.

Please read my reply once more. As a backer of PoE 2 you can make increased pledges and receive bonus content packages including PoE 1 and/or Tyranny. How does that fit into your theory?

No conspiracy theories, please.

Look at the pricing history of the base game at:

Talking about DLC, goes on about base game lol. The base game was 5 bucks if you got it in the monthly lolz. I know the history (using that site and another) and I actually compared it to the very other big games I play and have played. I ain't talking about everybody. You can't assume its the same for where I live either. I aint putting a blanket over the world, so you should not either.

The base game on steam lowest point was 17.99$ Outside of steam on the GameStore (win/mac) it hit 8.99. In 2017. I mean finally not tooo bad since it released in 2015. For voer two years cheapest even out of steam it was 13. So at the end of 2017 it hit 70%.

The lowest the DLC has ever been is 56%, while other 50% (this one not even on steam). Near the end of 2017. On a site that I can't buy from blargh! You do not even know what I have to go through sometimes to just buy a game.

Yet steam is still the cheaper option for me based off where I live. I am so close to buying PoE2 as its base starting price is really affordable here. Don't have to wait for monthly handouts.

Every game that has the publisher Paradox here in my country, the pricing and discounts are reflective. Discounts I can wait for, but not when they go back up or the base price is way to high to begin with.

I should be happy that PoE1 isn't flooded with DLC like other games in their set.

***
Also steamdb is nice but they don't actually have the lowest record for the base game. Pretty sure it hit below 15 bucks on a few sites as I noticed on isthereanydeal.
