Do you play with Sagani/Ituumak in party?
About the names and copywrite, I think many things can offer influence but that is not equal to be stupid or copy-paste. "There is nothing new under the sun" is totally true, all is created, I mean, people in art and other disciplines make variations about a same theme but that no mean that the thing lost importance. Every artist put other idea be based on previous works/influence.
Or else you would get general advice which may not apply to how you play the game at which level. Prayer Against Treachery gives +50 defense vs. Charmed/Dominated affliction. Various other spells increase the four defenses. Use heavy armor and shields with your more fragile companions. Offense can be the better defense in this game. You don't need to wait for them to engage you. You cannot "aggro" enemies in this game, but if you engage enemies, you get free disengagement attacks when they try to break engagement. For disengagement attacks to be helpful, your frontliners need to be turned into capable warriors instead of cowards that only try to survive.
Those names are part of the writers' world building efforts. In various other cases they have come up with their own words or, as in this case, just slightly different spellings. They could have chosen something completely different, such as Xaurip instead of Kobold. Do you have access to the Almanac Of The Eastern Reach and the Collector's Book which are included with the digital extras pack and various premium releases of the game? A combined 36+116 pages of lore and other specifics about the fantasy world they've created.
I don't have the DLC campaign installed and I'm playing on hard, which I've found to be sufficiently entertaining and challenging without crossing over into rage territory, most of the time.
I guess I'm still getting used to the idea of being able to have my wizards cast spells and whatnot in plate mail. Usually I have them in much lighter armor for the drastically increased reaction time.
I pretty much went straight down into Od Nua when I first found it, and have been using it to fund my stronghold repairs. I made it to level nine, but there are stubborn holdouts of fampyrs on level eight I'm having difficulty getting by.
As far as the name, it's just too close to "fam" for my taste and sounds quite silly. An unfortunate coincidence with the new slang.
