How to kill the Master Below (SPOILER WARNING)
So I've managed to get all the way to 15th level of the Endless Paths and I'm trying to slay the Adra Dragon. However, whenever the dragon uses one of its AOE attacks it kills most of my party members making the fight impossible. I've seen people in guides say that you need to knock the dragon down, then petrified it, but it says in the current version of the game that the Adra Dragon is immune to being petrified, so that doesn't seem like an option. I already have the dragon slayer ability from the dragon slayer and my party contains character level 11 to 12. Does anyone have a good strategy that doesn't involve countless hours of trial and error? I really want to get the achivement for killing both the dragons in the game.

Don't rely on ancient "guides", which have just discovered and exploited a single attack vector and which are written in a way that sounds like it would be the only way to be successful. Other authors advertize spamming Scroll of Paralysis, since the dragon is not immune to Paralyze - but it's cheesy, and the dragon can really be fought normally instead. Solo characters slay the dragon, too, with a variety of strategies and tactics.

There are tons of older topics about it, not limited to this one:

Consume food with every companion. Multiple types of food for different bonuses. Perhaps use drugs for their beneficial effects. Use summons as cannon fodder. Withdraw early and don't engage him immediately. Protect against Frightened/Terrified affliction. Do everything to increase Accuracy prior to launching attacks with your most important offensive companions. Focus on causing status effects, not damage. If you attack with melee weapons, prefer one single-handed weapon for the extra +12 Accuracy bonus - it can make a difference, especially if you want to attack with a melee ability and cause an affliction.

Adra dragon is still vulnerable to paralysis.
If you have DLCs installed, you might want to check some of the gear in the White March (e.g. Steadfast sword and Ninagauth's Shadowlame spell).

Get most of your team out of the way of the aoe attack. Keep your tank in front to take the attack, and your other guys off to the sides. You may have to revive your tank after taking the big attack, but it's better than your party wiping.

Hes the hardest enemy in the base game for a reason
