theres 'unique' items here and there... nothing spectacular tho. one of my few gripes with the game was they didnt try to make any special rare items that blow you away.

bro, the game is full with cool looking items... does this have any stats cool stats tho? like i said before the game didnt bother with making any items feel special outside of just making a few weapons and armor cool looking. ultimately what makes an item truly awesome and worth having are its stats.

A shiny red armor that grants the user Frenzy on recieving a crit isn't spectacular?

A 2handed sword that heals the wielder and inflicts a Raw DoT at that same time isn't spectacular? It even has an awesome name for crying out loud! :)

How is one supposed to know what piece of armor other guys would call "cool"? There are good-looking armors in this game, and some of them can be essential when trying to solo the game.
