Not sure about which stats to take for a wizard

Hello, this is the first time i play PoE and i am not sure what to pick for statistics.The game recommands intelligence, might and dexterity, but I have seen people state perception is important. What i want is a mighty wizards that destroys things, though i wouldnt be against crowd controll as well.

It is hard for me to decide something because PoE spirtiual father, BG2, relied mostly on intelligence for a wizard.

Might is what you want for a damage wizard, intelligence is for crowd control. Not sure about the importance of perception for a wizard but it's important for the dialogue in the game.

Deciding on your attributes isn't "hard". Carefully read what the game displays during character creation. It shows what stats each attribute governs.

Just want to get something out there: A common complaint is that Might contritbutes to spell damage but what those people are ignoring is that the base damage for spells is rather high.

The base damage for Fan of Flames is 31-43. And that's Burn damage(elemental damage types are far more useful than Slash/Pierce/Crush). And that's available at level 1.

Pump points into Might or don't. The Wizard is capable of dealing fantastic damage either way.
