Monk Beginner Question

Hey,
I recently started playing this game and I'm loving it. I decided to play as Monk but I have a question about the class. How am I suppose increase my fist damage without equiping any weapon?

Monk greatly increases damage via attack speed and passive/active talents that add secondary damage to your attacks. Use high DEX, don't increase your defenses too much, so you are hit from time to time to gain wounds. Those wounds fuel your active talents. Fists count as "Unarmed", so a first choice is the Weapon Focus: Peasant talent to increase Accuracy. Monk can hit/crit more often with higher Accuracy. The fists also count as two weapons, so pick Two Weapon Style for increased attack speed. Keep some ordinary weapons in your second slot, if enemies are immune to Crush damage.

Every few levels the "Transcendent Suffering" ability becomes available to you on level-up. It gives bonuses to unarmed damage.

And that one is automatically learned.

Also, just because it's a monk, don't think you actually need to play it unarmed. Most monk skills work with weapons. They are heavy armor and weapon monk builds for tanking, you can even do an archer monk.

Except the various levels of Transcendent Suffering, which also increase the Accuracy of your unarmed attacks.

monk fists scale in a weird way.
Early game they are miles better than anyhting you can find, then mid to late game superb, durgan- enchanced weapons are better, and finally, very late fists are better again.
