Soul in the White Forge

I have a small question on the passage (SPOILERS): what to do with the souls of the White Forge? There are three options: release, bind to forge, bind to the guns. Which option that gives you, who can say?

- binding the souls to the forge reduces the amount of durgan ingot you need for 1 unit of durgan steel (from 4 to 3). That means an increase from 9 to 12 durgan steel altogether in the game.
- binding to the cannons helps you in the second part of the dlc
- releasing them is the noble thing to do
