Gimp SPAMMING is for wimps

Been playing this game for an exceptionally long time now. I'm pretty decent at the game. Winning at least half of my games overall. I know this won't do much to change the community but it needs to be said. If you gimp you are a wimp. When you gimp you're not showing skill. You're showing how you mastered a technicality. Exploiting sloppy game design on the devs part. If you think you're great you should stay in the middle of the map and wreck your opponent without chasing them down to get that easy kill. If you love gimping and it's your go to move it's probably because you're inadequate at the actual game.
People who say gimping is a legit strategy are the same jerks who say mashing the low kick or upper cut in Mortal Kombat is a legitimate strategy. Note that these players are typically the most toxic in after match lobbies. Most likely to say "easy" even though THEY took the easy route.
Obviously, there's not much that can be done. People are going to exploit anything they can because winning is more important to them than playing the game. I'd love it if the community grew some balls and fought like in DBZ. Don't win from an exploit, win because you're a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jedi.
TLDR - Gimpers are the weakest/ most toxic class of player.

It's actually a high-risk playstyle. A gimp attempt can easily go wrong, and you can end up getting gimped yourself.

It's pretty funny to dodge upward through a ground pound, and then do a ground pound.

I've been gold and maintain gold easily I just haven't been doing Ranked. Too much lag. Again only ever in ranked. Look People, I know I hurt your feelings. You're a bunch of gimpers and you think it makes you good. I'm good enough to woop people without gimping. To get a better idea of my skill I beat about half of the plats I come up against and not so good against diamonds.
Gimping is not a skill. I CAN gimp but I'm better than that. I spend a lot of time on the side just to be able to deal with those people. If you beat someone without them ever getting to yellow, did you really "beat" them or did you just win? If you gimp 3 times are you not spamming?
Regardless of your excuses, a good player who can stay in the middle and destroy his opponent. combo him up n down the arena and finish with 1,000 damage. Scared, desperate players rely on a game exploit to win.

Cute. I've been playing video games for 30 years. I know when I'm bad. I'm bad at World of Warships. I'm know when I've been beat and I know when some cuck gimped me cus he was scared. Didn't wanna take that precious damage to the face.
btw you'll notice that diamonds don't abuse gimps. They may gimp you if it's just part of the combo but they typically aren't desperate to scrape you off the edge. They want a good game. Most of the time I can get even a diamond down to 1 v 1 but if I was a diamond slayer I'd be a diamond player as was pointed out.
Nobody ever calls me a spammer. The only people that don't gg me are salty cus I abused them. Still no ones addressed the fact that gimping is the strategic equivalent of low kicking in Mortal Kombat. You're not cool for doing it. OOoh you won but did you really? You didn't beat the player, you just took advantage of a weakness in the games balance.
Keep it up though. Keep making those excuses.

This is true but I'd rather just work a little harder to play the way I want to. I don't mind losing. I don't mind getting outplayed by a diamond. As for gimpers I spend lots of time on the side practicing. Speed dashing, dodging, fighting my way back to the middle. Counter gimps but I wont gimp people who don't try to gimp me. I'd rather lose for longer and put in the time to be a better player. ...If the Devs could fix the hitboxes/ hurtboxes a bit that wouldn't hurt though. They're a little messy.

uh, I'm not very good at 'gimping', but I believe you're viewing it wrong. It's called gimping, but it sounds more like using a won advantage to me. *You* managed to push them off the edge, and now you get a chance to take them out. If they don't get pushed to the edge, you don't get that chance. It's like filling up a special bar in a fighting game, or using a killstreak in a shooter. Sure, it's imbalanced, but you won that imbalance.
Seriously, if the devs didn't want you to kill people who were trying to get back on to the stage, they'd only make stages with no bottomless pits. No dev is reading your post and going "oh, crap! I didn't design a bottomless pit for people to get knocked into! This isn't how I planned this at all!"

I take a similar logic with weapon starving. It's their fault they're staying far out of the fray, and their fault for losing their weapon. Yeah, I'm going to make sure they're stuck with weaker tools. What would you suggest I do? Only try to hit them on their way to pick up the weapon? That's still an imbalance I'm taking advantage of, isn't it?

1-It's not a game exploit, it's a machanic.
2-Stop saying you're not bad, if you can't dodge a simple gimp then you shouldn't even be trying to get gold.

So imo weapon starving is different as if you NEED a weapon to win, you suck. I don't need weapons. If someone starves me out they quickly give up on that idea as I only pick up weapons that are conveniently located.
As for the devs intentions, this is sort of the case. Having floating arenas comes with it the possibility of gimping. Problem is it's not something the devs can fix easily without giving people extra jumps or something.
I don't agree that it's a legitimate strategy. No more than spamming is. In fact if I'm on the edge and I dodge your gimp and you try to gimp me or scrape me off the edge obsessively... you are spamming. You are gimp spamming. Winning with 300 damage done is not the same victory as dealing 1,000 damage to your opponent.
See, I grew up on DB and DBZ so I have this "Lets see which of us is REALLY the best! Give me everything you've got!" mentality.

If I dodge your gimp and then you spend the entire rest of the game on the edge of the platform trying to gimp me or throw me under the stage, you are spamming. You are a coward and you are afraid to face me.

btw I've repeatedly never claimed to be diamond level but I am quite good at the game. If anyone wants to try me, lets do it. Loser has to apologize publicly on this forum.
btw Luca, I especially want to battle you. Clearly the gimping is the name of your game and you should be kicked in your vagina over it.

Think the issue there is moreso passiveness. I don't mind it entirely, but it's kind of bringing in a separate game. *Could* I sit on the other side of the stage and wait him out? Sure, but I don't want to.

It's not some kind of won advantage, and it's actively not fun.

Noting my placement in "salt pit" It's worth noting that the people that live for gimping are the ones most likely to pour salt at the end. They know they're being sh itty. They know they're cucking their way through the game. They're just desperate to win at all costs.
Regardless I'll continue to deal with the gimpers. My main point of this post is to encourage others to be better at the game and don't rely on or spam gimps to win. It's very satisfying to kick someone into the void but it shouldn't be your entire game plan.

You're just looking for an excuse to play passively and hug the wall. What you are saying is simply wrong, gimping is one of the hardest techniques to master in this game.
