"Incorrect Version" error

Whenever I try to start up the game, I keep getting an error which reads: "Incorrect version. Restart Steam to update to the current version of Brawlhalla". The issue is I can't seem to update to this current version. I've restarted Steam by exiting out of Steam and going back in or even restarting my laptop, but nothing can get it to update. If it helps, I'm using a code a friend gave me from PAX South. Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried Verify File Cache or Uninstalling and reinstalling?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but I don't know what verifying the file cache is. How do I do this?

Nevermind, just got it to work. I had been uninstalling straight from Steam. I tried to uninstall from Control Panel -> Uninstall Programs and it worked once I reinstalled. Thanks, great game so far!

I just uninstalled and re-installed, both through control panel and through steam, and it did not fix it. I still cannot play.

Just want to make sure there isn't a similar error we are unaware of.

I was having the same error. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it 4 times, and then steam crashed when I tried to reinstall it. It was fixed as soon as the next game update was released, it just started working

To anyone who still has this problem

Go into Brawlhalla properties(right click in the game library) then Local Files and click "Verify integrity of game files" and it should fix automagically. :)

Even doing what you said, mine is giving this error, I've already tried downloading it through Ubisoft or Steam and it's still giving me the same problem. Do you know how to help me?
