Game performance is bad, brawlhalla deserves the hate.
I'm just happy this game has stayed in the mixed reviews territory. If you devs refuse to fix the awful performance issues, your game deserves to die and you don't deserve to earn money from skins. We don't have to apply tons of fixes and launch options just to run a 2D game.

I have no issues with spam and balance. Ultra passive playstyles, a little. But fundamentally, the game is fun to play. It's highly addicting when it works, and I enjoyed a steady climb before they pulled the rug under me with that UI update no one asked for. For some reason, this messed up the inputs for me, and I'm not alone on this. A quick search for "input delay/lag" in this forum supports this.

For silvers, golds, and even new plats, drop the game while you can. It's not worth it. Trust me, you'll feel like a crack addict on withdrawal once it becomes unplayable.

As an OG player, who enjoyed the previously fast-paced and combo centered game, I hate the direction they took the game.

In the past, a game would last max two minutes, with both players running it down, unarmed or weapon, it didn't matter, a match was more about pride for a players skill, rather than protecting fragile elo. While I won't blame the devs for Brawlhalla eventually dying out, since it's expected for people to get tired of repeated content. My issue are the supposed "balance changes".

I think the most prominent example of my frustration, are the lack of "combo" tutorials on YouTube, because fun fact; they don't exist. 0 to death combos hailed as the pinnacle of brawlhalla combat, has entirely become obsolete with so the over-used feature of attack recovery times. Although I understand the purpose, which is to obviously make the game playable. It resulted in punishing aggressive play, promoting the use of passive play, the source of my frustration.

As a Lucien main, I'll give an example; I won't even have to use the absolute garbage of a weapon blasters have become. Katars used to be the embodiment of aggression, with the attack range being so low, it used to be incomprehensible to play for counters, it would be more efficient to at least get one hit to land them in a combo even with getting damaged here and there; therefore the risk to reward ratio would be suited for playing aggressive. Now however, everybody gets dodges after every hit, which means instead of playing aggressive, your forced to poke, like all weapons are currently forced to do.

All in all, I just hate how slow the game is, I am at 2100 ELO, and immediately get punished for trying to get the game over with, especially with how boring it is to play passive players; There entire game plan is to run to the other side, bait out an attack, punish, repeat...
I currently play on mac and game is borderline unplayable. I've tried every fix imaginable What's more? For whatever odd reason my controller isn't supported on the mac version of the game. It works perfectly fine on my linux computer but not here. I don't understand why and it's extremely annoying as now I am forced to either purchase a supported controller or learn keyboard. Plz add better support for mac OS devs 🙏
Man that's unfortunate. And it sucks they're not even addressing these concerns. Lost faith a long time ago.
