Game constantly freezing

I recently switched from Ubisoft Connect to Steam for playing Brawlhalla. When I play the steam version. my game will freeze for a few frames randomly every couple of seconds or so. I have looked up and down through forums and different things, and none of the fixes have worked. Here's what I've tried so far:
- putting (-unlockfps -noeac -techtest) and (-high -dxlevel 81) into launch options
- fresh install (multiple times)
- updating graphics drivers
- restarting my pc (duh)
- setting high priority for Brawlhalla

None of these solutions have worked. I'd really like to fix this because it renders the game almost unplayable, but playing it through Steam is so much easier. PLEASE can anyone help?

the only fix i could find was just deleting the steam version and switching to ubisoft. ubisoft has its own problems, but the steam version is basically unplayable so i just have to live with that
