You can be expert at kill stealing and get tons of points on FFA just running around, don't fighting or just poking people that are fighting among themselves and then getting back, and just going for high damaged people. That's the optimal way to play FFA. But then, doing that don't helps you improving real skill, because that won't help you in 1v1/2v2 scenarios at all, you would need to play very differently and deeper on those scenarios. There are way too many chaos happening for you to be able to true practice on a FFA compared to ranked.
Also, fighting people that are better than you is in fact the best way to practice, just don't be afraid to lose ranks. Play to improve, not to climb the ladder. You will climb naturally the better you get over time.
It will remove one point in one stat and add a point into the selected stance
