Unbalanced? it's more balanced than other games existing, you're just not experienced enough.
It's so bad? nice opinion right there, too bad it doesn't matter.
People are toxic? are you new to fighting games? or competitive games in general? toxicity is everywhere on these games, Brawlhalla is no exception, deal with it.
2 leagues ahead of you? that's nice, at least you'll learn faster how to get good.
OP sigs and weapons? as said before, you're just not experienced enough.
It is impossible? its totally possible, but not with your 115 hours.
Yeah, it will take time to get to diamond, but the game isn't trash because it takes long, of course you aint getting diamond if you loose to sig spammers or something, i dunno what made you tilt so much here.
Months playing and practicing? 115 hours, as said before, aint enough buddy.
The game is trash? your opinion does not count right here buddy, welcome to competitive games, where you WILL have to spend time, YES, maybe even years, it depends, but you cannot just say the game is trash because YOU are bad at it, jeez...
in game time:110 hours
to be fair, yes it could be spread out over months. I generally dont put 100 hours in a game within a month, but it does take more time then 100 hours
Okay, hear me out. Even as I CONTINUE to play this game, it's not because I would if I had other options for a game like it.
I agree that there is unbalance, but it's not all entirely just bad design. It's just how the game IS. You don't expect a game like Smash to be balanced. That doesn't mean you can't win, you just have to put in disproportionate levels of practice compared to picking the Bayonetta's of the game that dominate ranked play. (Roland, Ember, Petra, ect)
Some characters are just MASSIVELY easier to take advantage of kit wise, and have more "Balanced" kits that can help shore up weaknesses where some lack the combo potential or damage to take rounds without risky signature moves.
A teros doesn't NEED anything else except side lights to win, but he's also so unsafe on signatures that missing one is just death against someone who knows how to carry.
A petra on the other hand can use her kits lights, which are all fairly good considering it's gauntlet x orb, but ALSO most of her signatures can get weaved into a combo and even if you miss something like her N.sig with gauntlets, she's not horribly unsafe like Dianna's Side gun sig whiffing, AND THEN she has range too, with two forms of projectile with charges to bait and a safe edgeguard on read / guess with good positioning with N-sig orb.
Petra isn't going to win you games just because her kit is good, and so the argument of "still takes skill" is very valid, and I agree.
The problem is that brawlhalla's netplay is very....jank.
It breaks a lot, and playing locally on brawlhalla is a totally smooth experience and feels great whereas the online ranked matches can be such a toss up between perfectly smooth or having 20+ hits that landed and you seen them flinch and they just never took damage or knockback from it.
Then you have people intentionally not using the proper servers to get good connections, causing issues for people who are, and there's no way to see connection speed prior to the match to see if you even want to go near it (something almost any fighting game has now).
The netcode, the players with crappy internet or PC's, and the whole counter-pick-centric meta is what really and honestly drives me to hate this game even as I sit here, playing the damn thing.
If there were other games that were playable in a ranked setting, or even just had populated casual 1v1's in a game similar to this, I'd be there. The problem is that Rivals of Aether is dead, That horrible "melee styled" game that stole a bunch of money and had actual literal 14 year old moderators for their official discord and got surprised when the mods were banning people they didn't like got bought by another company and changed NOTHING so it's dead...again...
Smash on switch is something I DO have, but seeing as how I'm at my PC much more often than at a dedicated TV with an ethernet adapter, I prefer playing PC anyways.
I understand OP's frustration. This game is full of toxic people, annoying netcode and the steamrolling factor is high. Getting back on stage is a NIGHTMARE and most people I fight just drop off and SD because they either can't get back on or if they can it's going to be a 30 second ordeal to just try to get into a position where they can start playing the game and NOT just trying to dodge and avoid the onslaught.
It can feel brutal and like one hit spells death (Which it sometimes does) and that's just a really harsh punishment when you're mixing it with hits not registering, making it feel like the game just doesn't care.
That doesn't make it balanced though? If you could move a mountain in a million years, that doesn't make the mountain light as a feather.
Also, these bloated "MOST BALANCED GAME IN EXISTENCE" claims are making me sick. Can people stop conflating "You can technically win a round" to "This is balanced"? If the game was the "most balanced game in existence" why do they have to constantly patch and change weapon types from beta? If it was perfectly balanced, why would they have had to change the entire dodge system at one point?
The game can feel balanced on a casual level, but once you start learning the advanced mechanics of the game it starts changing what becomes more viable than not.
Perfect balance can NEVER be achieved in any game. Not even chess or checkers is perfectly balanced. This game doesn't even come near perfect balance, or even great balance. It's got "Ok" balance.
