Are scripts allowed?

Hey everyone,

I've been using an AutoHotKey script online for a few hours and I started to wonder if it was OK with the devs (As well as the community). All the script really does is help me with performing frame-perfect inputs to exploit the physics system a tad to give me a slight advantage over what I had before. Will I get banned? Is this severely frowned upon? I need feedback please.

Wondering what kind of AutoHotkey script you have that actually would work well.
It simply puts out a combo with the executive moves following with pinpoint timing after eachother? Because a thing like that can kinda screw you over in ranked not havingt 100% control over your character.
Or am i thinking about the wrong thing?

The script basically allows me to "Wavedash"[supersmashbros.wikia.com] like you could in Smash Bros. every time I press Space. (I use W to jump.)

I honestly don't think that'll work well. Unlike actual wavedashes the dodge in Brawlhalla has a cooldown.

I wouldn't use it as I'd feel I was giving myself an unfair advantage. Either I pull things off with my own skill and reaction, or it's not fair, that's my opinion.

Right, but I don't chain Wavedashes into one another. I just use it for positioning, mind games, and combo followups. Like, with Bodvar I can rack on some damage, chain 2-3 dash attacks, wavedash backwards and do a Down + Heavy for the spike kill.

Do you think it is fair for ranked matches and such? I don't want to get banned, but It's really useful imo.

Don't know if it's banable, just stating my opinion. Don't recall ever seeing a ToS, nor can I find one.

I don't see why it would be bannable, at least if the script is what it is (bounds a key to do multiple actions in a row?) It might for example make gravity cancels easier for someone like me which sometimes misses the timing. I don't think it gives much of an advantage, it can simply potentially make you play better if you're unskilled.

Alright. I can see that you don't approve of scripting, but was all of that really necessary? I mean, I can just stop using it...

I don't make the rules - I barely even know the rules, but you're playing a competetive online game and using a third party program to give you 'a slight advantage'. Doesn't take a genius to point out that would probably be bannable, right?

If I were you I'd just stop using it now. Even if you can go use it undetected for now, sooner or later they'll implent something against your silly script, and when you're used to it by then - you'll probably be terrible without it.

I was thinking that as well, but I just wanted to check with the community and the devs to make sure it was okay, but rom the feedback I've received so far, It's kind of a toss-up.

I think he's overreacting a bit, unless i didnt understand what your script actually does. By 'slight advantage', it doesnt mean you have an advantage vs another player, it just means you're better than you were, because a player can perfectly do what your script does without it.
