I personally only started playing it because i just wanted something similar to smash... now I actually like this game more than smash. Most of my friends now do too. The main naysayers are the ones who just flat out "won't" play it.
right now, the community in brawlhalla is way bigger, has rank and everything, the online in rivals is still broken because of the player hosting system, but i really really want rivals to grow bigger, if not as big as smash scene, at least the less played titles
rivals skill cap is far higher than brawlhalla, but still a simplified version of melee
melee feels like all the mechanics are glitch abuse when comes to executing them, in rivals the same mechanics such as wavedashing feel as natural as a roll or air dodge, in brawlhalla these mechanics are close to non existent
if melee = dota 2 then rivals = heroes of newerth and brawlhalla = LoL
IDK man... i'd say they're similar ... but the type of skill isn't really comparable as they're different types of skill. Having played in top tier play for a while... there are some pretty crazy things in the skill of this game. Most of it is lost in how basic the core gameplay is that people never see the subtle things that make up higher tier play.
..::EDIT::..
for most people (prolly 90% of the player base) the stats don't really change anything at all... however for top tier players they can be game breaking... this is a small part of the reason why stances aren't allowed in competitive play.
Hey they can't all be perfect lol but yea if the project m modders get a chance to do the same for it, we might have a legend right there...wish nintendo employed the project m modders
im glad there is smash bros crusade and rivals still growing
All I really wished is that brawlhalla lowered alot of the character's floatiness, made it unique per char same with jumps and gave everyone their own unique standard combo (just non-weapon attacks, weapon attacks can stay how they are)
I do like rivals but outside of the combat brawlhalla has more.
Brawlhalla is much more of a party game than a fighting game, and Melee is essentially the grandfather in between them.
Yep true.
