how to do special moves?

How do you do special moves? I was watching some videos and they do different hits etc but I cant do them. Like how do you do the spear circle (all around you) in the air?

Gravity cancel: neutral dodge -> attack

You can press a direction with an attack to do different moves. There are 3: down, side and neutral.

Each weapon has 3 grounded light attacks, 3 signatures, which are usually also referred to as Heavy attacks. There is no difference between up and neutral(no directional influence) inputs at all, so the Spear circle is an up/neutral light air attack. Each weapon also has a down and up heavy, some spike and some do not. Use MMB to throw weapons. Shift is to dodge, and spot dodging in air will allow to execute a grounded light or heavy attack if you perform the input before the dodge frames end, this is called gravity cancelling.
