even if your present the issues at hand in a logical manner they still jump on your ass.
Some perhaps, not all.
That being said, this game can be just as competative if you're playing the right people. However, it's just as good for casual play, which is a nice added benefit. As much as I love SF, KI, Tekken, etc etc etc... Some of those games can be very dependent on the controller used. Can't speak for everyone else, but I know playing SF4 with an xbox 360 controller is no fun at all. The D-Pad is complete garbage, making you play with the analog which makes dashing and utilizing focus cancels and armor a pain. The way in which this game functions however, it's playable on a variety of controller types and keyboard without suffering serious disadvantages based on what you have/choose.
Now onto the points made in the OP. I barely see people focused on running and throwing items, if I do, I'll just stand still and dodge until they come at me, or throw stuff back while dodging. Even if people did it though, how different is it from Ryu shooting fireballs non stop? As for no variety in combos, to an extent this is true, some legends have very little options, however a lot of the effect behind the combos is the approach you take. There is more emphasis on creative maneuvering then creative combos (though some creative strings can be pulled off). On the topic of hitboxes and recovery, sure some tweaks can probably make things better, but it's not like the game needs a complete overhaul. Lastly, dying while still on screen? I'm guessing you're talking about lag. Part of that may be on the server, part on you. Me personally, if I really did the math, Odds are I lag maybe 5% of the time I play, if even. All in all, I still consider this a real fighting game.
Opinions from a competative fighting game fan who has been playing since the Street Fighter 2 arcade machines showed up in local stores and arcades back in 1991. Have played non competative fighting games (beat em ups) for even longer.
He came in with "no items" bias from Smash, moved on to judge the entirety of the game based on LOW RANKED play... That's not presenting issues, it's just whining about low level players and ill-conceived notions of what skill is.
Furthermore, he asked for exactly the treatment he got when he said:
Which is just presenting a holier than thou attitude. The OP deserves no respect for this post.
Even if he had presented logical arguments, this last statement was unnecessary and irrelevant. Should we also think that every sports fan is an expert on every sport? It's utterly absurd that this is supposed to somehow legitimize his very meager argument.
Everyone stop posting, this is obviously just a salty player trying to recieve a reaction.
I can confirm, I am the guy who misses.
You asked the fanboys for a fight, and you're suprised that you got negative feedback.
lol.
Since when was I OP?
