And I don't mind the system wiggling a bit, but being matched with people that can win me for 25 points and lose me for 5 is not okay.
The matchmaking IS based on MMR. The leaderboard ranking is not a matchmaking ranking. They intend to provide legend specific leaderboards, the current one is more or less a placeholder until then.

I have lost the last of my ability to take you seriously.
In this system you have to win more than you lose in order to MAINTAIN your rank.
If I have a 50/50 win rate I should stay where I am (with minor point discrepancies due to being matched with higher/lower ranked opponents), not drop.
BMG you f*cked up and just need to roll back to the pre-season system and use the pre-season rankings (with a soft reset of course).
Also, welcome to the "I can't take you seriously anymore"-land, I have been here for ages.
I'm looking for similar skill players or even better ones not lower ranks.
And since MMR is f*cked up a "lower rank" might be better than their rank suggests and drag me down and screw up the system even further instead of evening out.
The matchmaking is getting worse, not better.
Why? because you CAN"T WIN ALWAYS, there will always be a lag, or a bad game, or a counter, or someone who has JUST THE RIGHT PLAYSTYLE to counter yours. And when I play against LOWER LEVEL players, and my win ratio is about 3\1 (I win 3 games and lose 1) I DROP MY RANK. and when I'm being matched win my level players and my win ratio is about 3/2 (win 3, lose two) I RISE.
that's because the system is TOO PUNISHING, losing 25 and winning 5 IS NOT OKAY. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO F*CKING UNDERSTAND.
Do you understand the BS now?
If the guy below you is actually better than his rank suggests, good enough to beat you, then why should the system not put him above you? That's the system correcting his and your rank to reflect your actual strength compared to each other.
You are complaining that math is unfair.
How should this be handled? What would be a "fair" gain/loss ratio for winning or losing against someone 100+ points below you?
btw. what is you current MMR?
I'll tell you how I think this should be handled. They should NOT MATCH ME WITH PEOPLE WITH 100+ POINTS BELOW ME. they should not match me with people with MUCH LOWER MMR. they should not create a situation where I can drop from 1945 to 1820 with an almost even number of lose ot win (13-14 wins and 13-14 losses).
