How to koji?
Look, by all means, I'm a complete noob at this game. But I feel koji's sword sigs are just... off.
Anyone care to do a great guide on this? I feel I can hardly pull a sig off with him when using the sword. Hell, even if I feel i pull a perfect counter, my fsig is usually still too slow to hit them giving them a dodge window. Wish koji had a skill like hattori where you can bait the opponent into rushing in, but the nsig feels like too iffy of a hitbox for that. Dsig is weak but an amazing situational tool. Any koji users who can help me out? I feel all other chars are easier to use, but I prefer to lose more just to feel like a badass samurai.

Ps: Even after 20hours in the game I still feel my initial frustrations remain:
-Neutral attacks are usually upwards. While forward / horizontal attacks require input.
-Down for falling through platforms; down+attack for d-attack. Messes with me at times.
Setting please? :P

Yeah, Koji's sword sigs don't match the kit like other sword legends. ssig and dsig tend to be finishers for when you read your opponents, nsig is used to catch people falling into you. His bow signatures more than make up for it as they cover a wonderful array of bow's strongest areas. With sword more often than not you just stick to spacing and combo'ing them with sword into red and then fishing for a finisher be it a side/neutral/down air or a sig.

Psh, sword is awesome for rushdown combo's to overpower the enemy, not many know how to defend against a hyper aggresive sword koji.

Alrighty then, just switched to other characters and been playing ranked.
Pretty convinced about my earlier standpoint now. Koji seems like an amazing character, but his sword sigs dont hit for ♥♥♥♥. If anything, the ssig range deserves a buff. Every other koji i fought switched to a bow for kills too. I could be wrong, but I doubt that's the intended play.

Youtube some videos of a player known as Remmy. He plays Koji at a competitive level, try to analyze how he uses Koji's sigs in his play, as well as his overall gameplay.

For koji, I'd say instead of punishing, go on the offensive. If the opponent is about to sidesig/lightcombo you. down sig to escape. If you're close range and he's stunned, side sig. I don't really use the neutral sig much though.

Just watched a match, remmy as azoth getting killed by someone else as koji and then a rematch of them both using koji. The only ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sword sig that connected during those two matches was a blatant error on the other persons part of running into the ssig after the first strike.

Edit: Wanted to say bodvar has the same issue, but it seems that extra str and def really do help to KO people when using light attacks. That, and his ssig feels safer to use somehow. But really,

I feel koji's ssig and nsig are amazingly hard to land. The nsig seems decent enough as it helps against jumpy opponents and you can bait them into it even despite the rather small hitbox. But the ssig... somehow I cant use it to counter even after a great dodge.

But perhaps it's all just in my head.
Oh well, I'll find a way to reach platinum and deserve my right to give my opinion, haha. Time to git gud.

Thanks for the replies guys, and apologies if these are but figments of my imagination.
