The only way to play this weapon right now in my opinion is to use recovery for 90% of the match because it's the only decent attack he has and luckily it's a finisher.
The thing is, after the first hit doesn't land (let's say I'm trying to space it), if the player keeps attacking, they can continue the string with moves that cover a wide area, eliminating most dodge options immediately.
The only valid strategy against the greatsword in my opinion is waiting for a full string and then attacking, which is passive playstile by definition, and it's something that I retch when I think about. It's the opposite of fun, I wanna dash into my opponent and land strings, but I get punished with one button every time.
Therefore, greatsword is the weapon for people who doesn't know how to string coz' its creates the string for you. Like literally, what other weapon in this game can you think of that will hit just by mashing a single button? Plus a directional key at most? None. Only greatsword.
Total garbage. It should only be a tutorial weapon to teach you strings without basically you doing the actual strings.
TL;DR
Everyone: idk how to do strings,
Greatsword: imma pretend I didn't see that.
You literally need to press one button then boom. EZ win.
GARBONGO. MY DISAPPOINT IS IMMEASURABLE AND MY DAY IS RUINED.
you do what you do to win, except taunting 9 times
I dunno, I guess not everyone has put 3000+ hours into brawlhalla :D If we were to do a poll, I'd wager that 90% of people would say the weapon is horribly overpowered, at least those who are not mighty professionals in the art of brawl and can't read the enemy 10 moves in advance
Understandable point but regardless balancing shouldn't be around casuals level of play so hopefully BMG doesn't nerf a weapon that's already bad. That's all
Well, so far you haven't provided a single argument as to why it's so bad. I'm not saying you have to, of course, but it would contribute to the discussion, I guess?
1) Greatsword does ridiculous damage and can kill in orange even without using a signature.
2) Its strings require two buttons being pressed, and for how easy they are to input, they are too hard to dodge out of and have way too much force.
3) Even with it being a bit heavy and wieldy, for many people it's not an issue with how much it rewards a passive playstyle – just stay grounded, wait for your opponent to throw an attack, spotdodge, and do a braindead string that will deal 30+ damage.
These are my thoughts on why this weapon is OP. Why do you think it's "bad in every aspect", exactly?
Bruh, I get it, every weapon has weaknesses so we've got to use them, please don't assume I'm so intellectually challenged that you need to explain that to me. I understand this. You can read my arguments above if you want to find out why exactly I'm not happy with it. To make it brief, the guy with the greatsword immediately dominates the arena. He doesn't need to do anything to break YOUR defence and find weaknesses in YOUR weapon; he'll wait for you to do some move, and if it's not a frame-perfect dodge, he'll one-button string you into oblivion.
