Keyboard ghosting
Hello everybody,

I've played Brawlhalla for many years (with a stop of some years yeah) and I stopped because of my controller input delay. I decided to learn to play with keyboard but it seems my PC (Omen 15) has a Keyboard Ghosting problem. I tried with another Keyboard plugged-in but the problem persists. There are options in Windows that might cause this problem? Did you have it and you fixed it? How?

It's probably the keyboards, not your PC. They're probably digital keyboards, which have limitations of how many key presses will register at a time. What you need is a mechanical keyboard. Hcman makes good ones. The cheapest variant is about $30.

Thank you for the suggestion!
Do you have any suggestion about controllers without input lag? So I can play at the same level of keyboard players I mean.

Without going into details, keyboard is objectively superior, so don't explore controller delay. As for keyboards, you don't need a mechanical keyboard to avoid ghosting as the key press solution has nothing to do with number of symultaneous inputs accepted. Just read the fineprint for keyboards and avoid budget options.

Got a little cut and paste for you.

"Just because a keyboard is marketed with anti-ghosting capabilities does not mean all of its keys can really work simultaneously without problems. Often, only a certain number of keys are calibrated to function perfectly (for example, the WASD block and/or the direction keys). This is simpler, cheaper, and, from the perspective of a disinterested observer, covers the important bases anyway. You only run into problems once you move away from those specifically-protected keys."

So you cannot trust those anti-ghosting keyboards, especially for a game like Brawlhalla. Get the mechanical to be on the safe side. Each key functions on its own circuit. You can't simulate that with the cheap stuff.

Also, no controller will give you the same level of precision as a keyboard.

I specifically got a traditional keyboard because mechanical ones are too loud and I don't have any ghosting anywhere. My previous keyboard only had anti-ghosting for certain keys but they were clearly marked on the box which ones they were. Your pasted text doesn't support your conclusion/there's no point in spending more on a mech keyboard with just a tiny bit of research (i.e. checking the back of the box or asking staff).

Do not listen to this man. Mechanical keyboards are louder, but they are durable, reliable, and EVERY key is anti-ghosting protected instead of just a few marked on the box. (this means it will be more reliable for a wider variety of games, in laymans terms)

Invest in your hardware. Don't get the cheap stuff.

Or do. I don't care. I've done my part here. :)

Thank you all guys, I think I'll take a mechanical one tho, because I'm a writer and I love the sound of mechanical ones. I'll take two pigions with one stone.
