Press the jump and attack button at the same time for the 2nd attack
Also you have to let go of the buttons you pressed for slight after it hit.
(Don't hold the side button)

The only true combo you'll ever need on lance is Sair / Dair followed by more Sair / Dair.

I use Dair>Sair too
