how does damage work?

when in a duel, i often find myself against an opponent who finishes me off at orange hp but i can't kill them even when they are dark red. can somebody give my any info on tips about health/finishing?

Depends on the legend, if the legend do a great damage, he will kill u.

Any thing should kill in Brawlhalla at red honestly lol.

You must be doing the weakest moves in the game like jab or something. Or literally try not to kill them

Side air attacks with most of the weapons, dash attack without a weapon can kill also, basic axe attack could even kill near the edge.

Just do a different move and figure out their knockback in training at higher percents.

Or even just throw out a Sig, ALL of them should have no trouble killing at dark red
