Aerial attacks
So for the last few patches i have noticed that more and more people just hover in the air then use aerial attacks when right above the ground. I went into training mode and aerial attacks have about 1.5-2x the hitbox size as ground attacks for pretty most weapons (spear, sword,. Not only that, but most weapons and legends dont have an attack that goes up above your legend. Exceptions being Bow nlight, Gauntlets slight, Spear dlight, etc.

Here is my point:

About 3/4 of the people i go against in experimental, ranked, etc, just float above u and use dairs and sairs to approach. I dont really hear anyone complain about this, so there must be a way to counter that i am missing, but i have yet to find it by myself.

Before u say "o go use that playstyle and see how people beat it" i have already tried that and they just go up in the air too so that nobody gets the advantage.

Grounded opponents get dash. You can easily confuse their sense of spacing and make them miss, then punish. If I'm not mistaken, touching the ground as you miss an aerial attack has higher recovery than just missing a grounded attack.

You can also juggle them, using dash to stay just underneath, and popping up with nairs and upward weapon throws and unarmed recovery.

My problem with this is that on most maps other than shipwreck falls and small brawlhaven there isnt enough space to run around without then still being able to reach. you would have to dash after they start the attack, and the attacks i have problems with are the very fast ones so i am not able to do that

You have to alternate sides. If you're running in one direction and they're about to land on you with a dair or something, you then dash the opposite direction. Sometimes you dash away and then dash back again, if they're harder to fool. Once you get the hang of this, it becomes much easier to make them miss and ♥♥♥♥ with their spacing.
