Sidra and Caspian are bad (Need help)
For me, anyways. Sidra is tough to play as because she can hit like a truck, but it's hard to land hits with her cannon, and I keep forgetting that her side X with the sword is short-ranged as hell.

Caspian's X moves all require me to have some distance from my opponent, or can be as easy as hell to read.

Guys, what do you suggest I do to get better with Sidra? But not Caspian, ♥♥♥♥ that guy.

if they seem bad then you should main another character, as defeating them should be easier

if you're the one that's bad then you should main another character that's easier for you to use

if you and the character is bad you should main another character, preferably hattori

Yeah, but are they bad? And what if I want to get better rather than take the easy way out?

i've found that each character is good at different things
if you find a weakness in your opponent, there's a good chance the character you're using can exploit it in one way or another
i suggest learning how to time your attacks as well as using light and heavy attacks differently for caspian because spamming with him never works
as for sidra, well, i dont really play her very much

basically learn all the basics, time your attacks well and accurately and you should be good (air attacks count as basics for me btw)

you could also watch professional caspian mains and learn from them
combos can be a good way to win

caspian's specialty seems to be short range and long range to me
he cannot be middle range at ALL
once you have those two down, you'd probably do well

Well, from what I can gather on Sidra's character, it's that with the cannon, she does best performing hit and run attacks. It doesn't sound like a likely strategy in a fighting game, but why not? I seem to do pretty well running back and forth slamming into my opponents with my light cannon attacks, knocking them out with light air lefts/rights alone. Like, with the cannon, I don't even have to use the specials. I actually prefer not to rely on her cannon specials because they require so much placement that they really can't be spammed. I never realized how much I relied on spamming with Gnash and Wu Shang until now.

From what I can tell, her sword special left/right and special neutral just requires good timing and letting the enemy get really close. Her down special is bad and bouji when it comes to edgeguarding, but it also requires perfect timing and placement.

I managed to win one 1v1 and 2 free-for-alls with her just now, although I came out on top by a hair, so I guess I'm getting better with her. I just feel like her damage output could be savage if I could just learn to string together combos with the cannon.

im actually against brawlhalla's cannons so my experience with her is biased
EDIT: cannons also seem derpy and light attacks would probably be rekt by caspians long range

Cannon itself is great. Sidra's cannon imo is sub par.

If you really love cannon, please. Try Xull. He is much better. You can just gc + any sig after landing cannon nlight and it'll stick most of the time.

I’s recommend Isaiah, simply due to to his cannon sigs being really good. Dsig is great for edge guarding, gc ssig off stage is also famtastic, and gc nsig off stage is great for killing people trying to gp you. Dlight into nsig is also a great kill option.

In short, isaiah’s cannon sigs hit where his light attacks does not, giving him a huge arsenal of attacks for almost every situation. He can attack diagonally up or down using nair and gp, and side ways using sair, while his recovery covers the vertical upwards direction and his dsig and dair covers the vertical downwards direction. For on-stage fights, his dlight and nlight are really great too. (I wouldn’t recommend using his ssig on stage, unless you know the enemy will blindly run in your face).
