Does This Game Have Any Limited Items/Rewards?

Hello, so I'm new to this game and I noticed that there are a lot of in-game purchases (not uncommon for a f2p game), but before I actually decide to get too involved with this game or maybe purchase stuff to support the devs what I want to know is:

Are there any cosmetics or items in this game which were available at one point in time but no longer are?

This can include cash shop items, pre-order bonuses, beta rewards, kickstarter rewards, competitive rewards from specific "seasons", or any kind of in-game item that be a title, skin, character, podium, death effect, etc. that is 100% impossible for new players to obtain.

This does not include items which are only obtainable at a certain time, but return every year such as christmas/halloween events


This is a pretty strange question, but I'm making it a habit to not get involved with games that use this marketing strategy to encourage immediate spending and shaft newer players.

Any insight on this would be much appreciated

Yeah, most stuff are behind Paywall. And there were some free stuff from limited events But, those are just cosmetics Items, doesn't affect Your gameplay at all or anything. (those who have Skins probably rubs salt on You tho)

I've never spend a dime on this game but I enjoy playing it, so there's that.

I was really hoping this game didn't go down that route because it did seem pretty fun.

seasonal event cosmetics are limited time only, xmas, halloween and what not. you have to buy them with in game currency you earn from matches

Limited Time items.
Considering you don't mean event colours there are a few.

1. Exclusive chest skins. Chests do rotate but it does take a while. Currently there is a fast chest rotation.
2. Metadev skins. You get these by going to BCX and the skin you receive changes every year.
3. Charged OG. Pretty sure this event won't come back.

At the end of the day it's all cosmetic.

So you want to be able to collect all the items in a game? It's a weird fetish but who am I to judge.
That's a bit like saying you want to be able to play Orion as he was in the alpha version of the game, but since that's not possible, you're not interested.
Good luck looking for another game, I doubt you'll be content with any of them.

Some people have that fetish you know. i play paladins for 1.6 hours ,collecting almost all the item at some point ,grinding all the Champions to inaverage level and after i cant obtain one
*single* particular limited item ,i quit that game and instantly give the account to a friend of mine

Thank you for the detailed response, and I mean any kind of items cosmetic, recolors, anything.



And to the person who said it's a "fetish" it's more so I just don't want to support developers who think only a handful of people should be allowed to own something just because they knew about the game first and had the money at the time.

The most disgusting company I can think of that does this is HiRez and they are the sole reason I have this philosophy with all developers of similar nature. It doesn't matter if it's only a cosmetic item... I believe if you put the effort into the game or save up the money you should be able to get any single item in the game you work for. Barring off everyone just because of some imposed deadline to encourage frantic spending is just a distasteful move on the part of developers.

So now I make sure before dropping even a penny on the game. I refuse to support these practices, but that is my decision and mine alone.

Good for you, I also quit that game entirely. Funnily enough the people who fund these companies the most are people like you and me who are collectors and despise these practices. It's funny how they are so willing to completely shaft the people who are their biggest source of income.
