They must be deranking back to silver to tilt noobs, what a SCUMmish thing to do.
And what Diamond do you mean? Do they have the border? The Avatar? or the Emblem thing?

I haven't played in a while but I gotta say the ranking system has been a problem in brawlhalla for a very long time. It was definitely more of a hardbarrier back in closed beta.

Now I feel like you can get far by getting lucky.

By problem you mean people complaining that it can't magically create matching opponents?

If you want to dismiss it, then yeah you can say it like that.
It's not impossible to have a good matchmaking system. Far from it.

What makes a "good" matchmaking system? You always have the tradeoff of waiting time vs matching accuracy. It becomes less of an issue if you have a very large active playerbase, but this isn't the case for Brawlhalla given that it's also broken up into regions.
Having a hard barrier means you effectively block certain players, particularly high ranks, from playing ranked because there isn't enough of them to offer equal matches most of the time.

both
Im no noob myself i have 600 something hours and have been playing for years. I did ake a 1 year break tho. Anyways, I was just playing with my brother and our 2v2 ranking was silver and we were facing people 300+ elo above us and I was very pissed off. Diamond people are the most passive things I have ever seen. A lot of people rage quit this game because of people like them

And that is precisely what makes it terrible imo. It'd be much better if it was far more accurate, else what is the point of ranked in the first place? There's always casual matches if you want a quick round.

Let's talk hard numbers then. How much waiting time and what max rank difference is acceptable? What do you do if those two don't align?

At the very least I'd to see something similiar to closed beta where there is a very noticeable difference between the ranks. The end is more important than the means, and pulling numbers out of my ass isn't going to change anything. As is, I see a problem, and I'd rather have longer que times if it meant ranked would be more consistent.

Metrics alone aren't the answer. The solution is definitely going to be more nuanced than that.
just faced someone that has 2000 elo and i have 1600
love this trash ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ranking system it needs to be fixed
It's been this way as long as I've played. At the moment, I've lost about 100 Elo to people consistently ~1700-1800 Elo, and the only hope I have at recovery is if it matches me even vaguely in Elo to someone else.

Here's a fairly simple fix: Why not make a system where one can *choose* the parameters? For instance, what if I and so sick and tired of being trashed every single match that I'm willing to wait 10 or more minutes for a match no more than 100 or so Elo above me, and I could set that? If I don't get my match in the allotted time, it informs me, and I can adjust it higher or longer. Or, if I'm a smurfer/glutton for punishment, I can set the threshold to 300 or more Elo, and get trashed to my heart's content.

That way, everyone gets matches that they're happy with (or at least have consented to), and the only ones stuck waiting are the ones that are willing to anyways. The higher tiers won't be shafted, since there will always be those lower that are impatient and will always have higher thresholds, and the ones that are patient and tired of being trashed by players several tiers higher can finally choose not to be, and have an Elo that actually matches their skill level.
