Best charcter for starting?

I just got the game and I only have the starting guys, currently im using the guy with the fedora.

I'd suggest Brynn or Wu-Shang. Solid stats and the both use spears, which are relatively new player friendly. Then they both have a weapon that requires a bit more practice to get the hang of, axe for Brynn and gauntlets for Wu.

^Definately not what he said. Spear isn't great for new players since it requires precise timing and spacing(unless you spam something like helicopter attack), Also brynn has TERRIBLE sigs, so she'll teach you how to play a character without sigs. Which is bad, and just handicaps you.

Axe is probably the easiest weapon to use, you just have to play around with characters in training/free weeks until you find the weapons you like. What's most important is simply playing that character consistently so you know him/her in and out.

You think so? Maybe I'm the opposite. I'm still learning how to play axe but I picked up spear quite easily. Also I was just basing around stats, not sigs since I don't use em. xD

Yeah, just find a character you like and learning the insides out is the way to go.

play someone respectable. in my opinion , thats the spear players. they have the most respectable combos/strings and theyre also just super fun to use, but DO NOT SPAM HELICOPTER.. i only use recovery when im coming back to the stage. you should play maybe mirage and also learn the scythe because it also is kind of advanced and has really nice strings. people will be mad about it a little but its still respecable and not spammy.

I think you should try every type of weapon (spear,gauntlet,axe,sword,bow,hammer,daggers,etc) in the training range and then pick the brawler that uses ur favorite weapon and then just praxtice with that weapon or brawler

using difficult weapons in the beginning actually helps the difficulty curve later on imo.
it forces you to learn the basics.

I bought Queen Nai since you guys were saying spears were good. Is she generally considered a good legend? I mean it's not like i'm that good at her yet, helicopter spamming is kinda neccasary to win atm.

she's p slow, not that good to start with
most people were saying not to use spear unless you spam helicopter

tbh any champion that costs 2,300 is a good character to start off with all tho , i wont really say there is a good champion to start with . You gotta find a weapon style that works for you , go on traning and just try out the champions . when you found the weapon type you good with then you can see to buy champions that have the weapon suited for you.

Be starters for me is

Lucian - in terms of damage and speed play
Orion- for all rounder
Yumiko - for offensive play
Azoth - for damage

I started with Lord Vraxx. He has good sigs, but I played this game in s3 and s4.
