I was going to buy an skin...
You know, it's Christmas! I have spent like 80 hours on this game, have learned to deal with the frustration of the sporadic lag and became an honorable player that always gives a chance to his opponet to grab a weapon and say GG at the end of the match in without sarcasm, so let's buy a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless cosmetic!
For Scarlet, of course, because she's a perfect flawless waifu with a large hammer... ok, the almost decent one costs like 140... mammoth coins? Sure... no problemo, I have a couple of bucks in my wallet... I would prefer to use them to buy the skin directly, but yeah, let's grab those coins!
Wait... what the ♥♥♥♥... 140 coins cost 5,99? SIX ♥♥♥♥ing leuros for ONE skin?! That's more ♥♥♥♥ up than the economy of Zimbabwe!
And that's the tale.

Look, I know that the Age of Sanity ended long ago, that we are just finishing the Year of the Loot Box and that they want to make some money with their game... but come on, six euros for one skin is just absurd and greedy and stupid!
Skins should cost between 50 cents or 1 euro, they would sell waaaaaaaaaaay more with reasonables prices instead of this crap.
Let's make clear that I want to put mony in the game, but I'm not want to be cheated in the process, I'm not that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
And that's the rambling, more or less...

Happy Christmas everybody!

Yeah, skins are somewhat overpriced but i recommend you getting the Valhalla pack for around 10 dollars. It gives you 500 mammoth coins, sexy nameplate,a free sidekick which cannot be purchased otherwise and an avatar. It would cost you around 25 dollars to get everything that the pack offers for free plus the things you will buy with its mammoth coins. BCX pack was a limited time pack but it was the best deal you would ever find. 300 coins plus exclusive things for just 5 dollars.

Honestly, skins in this game are overpriced, but I'd say if you've got maybe 2 characters you really like / main, then buy them each a skin and maybe a KO-effect. Podiums are also pretty swank and give you a little more edge in the "Oh ♥♥♥♥ they're legit invested in this game" pre-game-mind-game.

Honestly, skins are a sign that you're in for the long haul due to it being overpriced. It's a sign of "I'ma play the ♥♥♥♥♥ outta this game and I wana look better than default doing it."

You also have to admit that with colors being free, you can get quite a bit of milage out of a single skin since it's not locked to default colors.

I guess... but this kind of artificial exclusivity is quite douchebaggy, highly counterproductive and not consumer friendly at all.
Again, I know that it has sadly become the norm, but... it still sucks a lot!

I mean....Not really? Just because something costs money doesn't mean it's counterproductive. Plenty of people are willing to pay for something they enjoy. If you're a collector and want EVERY skin, that's a you thing. Paying $6 for something you'll use for extended periods of time is not THAT much of a cost. Especially in a free game. Hell, if you're like me and even PAID to get into brawlhalla, it's still not THAT costly.

It's just a matter of prospective. Giving out things for free would mean that there's no real monitary income for the company. Now personally I'd love to see these developers get smashed in the face with a sledgehammer sometimes due to their stupid GAMEPLAY based practices...but when it comes to the skins, I'd say that it's not that bad. There's much worse options out there (IE: Any phone game ever)
Comandante Dango Dec 20, 2017 @ 2:08pm
Is clearly counterproductive, if the skin had a reasonable prices (because I'm not saying that they should give them for free) more people would buy them and you would make more mony or at the very least the same amount that they make now, as they are right now they become something that people buys very sporadically and, as you well exposed, something that only appeals to the "whale culture" of having a few players that put an atrocious amounts of money in the game because their gambling problems urge them to have everything.

This problem is not exclusive of Brawlhalla, but is still a problem and something that deserves attention.

And 6 bucks for an skin, a single skin, is an absurd amount of money, you can buy entire bundles of games with that!

What you really want is the colors!
Comandante Dango Dec 20, 2017 @ 3:14pm
Even if isn't entirely wrong, that's a pretty superficial approach to the issue.
I wanted to give money to the game, because I kind of like it, but the prices weren't reasonable, putting me in a situation in which whatever option I choose will lead to spend more money than I want.
So I decide exercise my consumer right to complain and shared the whole thing, because I like to read the opinions of other people.

so 3 things
1 if you don't want lootboxes, don't buy them
2 if you don't want to pay for overpriced skins don't buy them
3 make and update a free to play weekly with a development team

it's a free to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play game, you literally can't complain about microtransactions in a game that you're able to play for FREE

Yes you can

I think it is definitely overpriced. However, as someone else said, if you buy the DLC packs you can get mammoth coins for way cheaper. I have bought a DLC special or two when they go on sale, so you just have to look out for them. Then, I wait for the skin I want to go on sale for 100 coins instead of 140, or 60 if its the cheaper skins. Yeah you have to wait awhile and you are still paying quite a bit, but you save more by doing it this way. :v

I dont mind giving some money to the game because I really love it, it is one of my favorite games so I am okay supporting them. I agree skins are overpriced but at least they go on sale and give you the option to get mammoth coins via DLC packs so I think that is a nice thing for them to do.

No youre not. Brawlhalla skins are a ripoff. The only worthy way of getting skins is waiting for those seasonal packs since they allow you to buy 2 skins plus you gett a weapons skin or a sidekick

Most people spend way more on a meal from a fast food restaraunt, and you just crap that out later.
Jakob. Dec 21, 2017 @ 4:39am
They're not really that overpriced, though... I've got like 30 and I don't have that much money... If you pay fo' 20EU at the same time you get much more mamoth coins... I dunno how much money I've spent on this (rather ♥♥♥♥♥♥) game but also I've had much more fun playing since I bought skins and taunts. But everyone plays in their own way, I guess. If you don't want to buys skins for that much money then don't. :fukoclannad:

Well, well, well... WELL... sooooooooooooooooooo... anybody wants to talk about how stupid is that some skins are locked inside slot machines...?
