Clan names and toxicity
I don't understand why BMG doesn't do anything about these users of alright skill pairing their capabilities with crappy, crappy clan names and user names. In the past hour, I've managed to encounter three clans with such unsuitable and immature names;
  • assssssssssss
  • GODHATESGAYS
  • Hitler is my Waifu

And there are plenty more names out there which are outright offensive and have every intention of inflaming emotions, gaming psychology with poor sport and are generally inappropriate for a free-to-play title. What the hell is wrong with BMG to not put the kibosh on users who want to exercise not only clan names, but user names which are immature and hostile toward the community? What kind of environment is BMG trying to foster?

Well, I did say i wasnt sure lol
However i wont go along with it being a proper real word until it makes it into a real dictionary and not just an ever-changing online one :)

You knew exactly the meaning of butthurt when you read it even without the dictionary link. Kinda fits the function of word regardless of it being in the dictionary or not. Words always change depending on the context used by the individual expressing them because language is a tool used by people to express themselves.

There are no and will never be any saints in the human race. Sure... the ♥♥♥♥ is kind of immature at times but it's hard to deny that sometimes even you laugh at something someone else might be offended by but who hasn't cracked a smile at a fart joke on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ day? They're in a private clan made of members that are willing to attach that tag to themselves for whatever reason that is perfectly sufficient to them.

Who is stopping you from seeking out people and forming a group called "TrollSlayers" with however many rules on personal conduct you and your members agree to. You then play the damn game and maybe challenge the "RapeMasters>9k" clan and show that you are better not only as a person but in game as well.

I understand your intent as well as the games companies when it comes to toxicity because it would be cool if people were better than they are. People are bound to be disappointing at times but don't cry when the expected rigidness returned when you screw up. I listen to a lot of comedy and I do see trolling as a part of comedy. Dark but necessary to point out the really bad ♥♥♥♥ that we as human beings are thinking or the worst case scenario doing.

TL;DR

Diversity is incomplete without some trolls. ♥♥♥♥ the well-meaning but tyrannical good.

There was never a screw up and there was never any crying.

The words are becoming quick to point out with out any logical thinking on behalf of the people posts.

I've said it before. I'll say it again.

"They. Don't Care."

If Brawlhalla gave their points of >understanding< they would've slammed a Ban-Hammer long ago, set a major restriction in terms of wording filters and violation names, pushed that pen deep, deep, deep, into the signature box of Policy and kept a few people just too seek out these particular issues and BOOM knock them out.

All. In the name. Of "Respect"

But no one cares or wants to attempt. Instead we just want to read a bunch of text on the computer or your cellphone, ipad, mobile device, etc... and just simply say. "Quit crying."

Cause in the end, everyone seems to be able to know that someone's text is expression emotion. It's. Just. Test.

Maybe too me, to others it is different.

welcome to Brawlhalla. Trust me. They never cared. If they did. They should've shown it by than. (but they rather push their game to PS4 than work out THAT area of humanity.)

Also I left a typo cause people have more fun fixing others mistakes just cause we want the world to burn. I guess.

Don't have to be sour but overprotectiveness is bad as well. Some people may be pursuaded by you but not everyone will agree to be a certain way and that includes me and my arguments. I think the whole benefits far more from better, stronger, tougher, individual parts. Growing pains are not a bad thing in my view.

I just hope that Antifa and Based Spartan types take eachother out. Words are one thing, violence another so they can all eat... something. :P

I feel like you're fighting the real diversity and depth that people are capable of being. Sweet all the time sucks, like sad all the time sucks, like spices all the time sucks. Letting people experience the spice isn't the same as wanting to just watch them drown in it.
I gotta agree here. My concern is more with the toxicity in general, and not so much how people express themselves.

Which is why I think this is a community issue. Being an example is a lot better than overzealous moderation.

There is a big difference between horsing around and being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It's a Administrator and developer issue.

No floodgate or anything to simply give a strict understanding will just allow corrision to consist.
Im literally just asking you what your argument is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Yes brawlhalla devs probs dont care, i agree with that? i also dont think its a problem. Do you think its a problem?

No need. People with far greater grasping of understanding in how to read and translate will figure it out. Just let them do it for you.
Nice job coming across as r/iamverysmart, but really. i understand what you saying, but what is your argument? you kinda just say 'whaa no one cares' and some philisophical ♥♥♥♥. Make a point that i can discuss with you
His point was about having respect, and the lack of it in online comunities. As well as the lack of moderation or filtering in brawlhalla's chat system.
@Dr ivo, Sometimes clarifying, and making answers concise can help make a point more clear.
If they don't understand try rewording your arguement.

I honestly can't tell man. I have a huge sense of humor, but I'm unable to communicate like... text vs emotion.

Which makes it pain in the ass for me to read books cause a lot of its emotional impact I just can't tell.

I uh. am So fawkin sorry LOL.
Well, I am amongst the first to push against toxicity, since video games were for many years my escape from my horrible horrible classmate then co-worker.

However, asking someone to be banned for having "hitler is my waifu" feels, to me, like an extreme case of what people would call "thin skin".

It's pretty clearly 2nd degree. Hitler is such a meme at this point I don't think anyone in the world even takes him seriously anymore.

In short, the problem I have is : someone somewhere will always be offended. And you have nothing objective to prove or disprove someone being offended.

I mean, I can claim Mail me to the Moon offends me, because everytime I read "mail" I remember the mailman didn't arrive in time for christmas.
I can claim Robotnik offends me, because he killed me back in Sonic 2.
I can claim conr offends me, because capital letters are awesome.

Giving banning or censoring power to people on the basis they are offended seems to me like a ticket to a hellhole.

For reference, I think the only example on this thread I would maybe kinda sorta consider toxic would be the "GODHATESGAY", because I see way more interpretation on the side of religious zeal or baiting than 2nd degree. But it's also true, so I hardly see myself banning someone for stating the obvious.
"assssssss" is not offensive to me in any way, shape or form, it's vulgar, but it has nothing offensive or inflammatory, let alone abusive.
"Hitler is my waifu" seems very clearly 2nd degree.

I feel there should be a -Clear- understanding though.

I mean if you want to say the triple K clan as a clan name. Should be a major obvious.
