No gore, and you die by going out of the screen, yes.

The most horrific things in the game include a skeleton character and one weapon on one skin has a brain floating in a jar.
And a skin with a saw through the head, but without blood, like in a poorly made halloween costume.

If it bothers you so much, just look at the game's ESRB rating

Now that I think of it, when a characters dies, you see a beaten up version of his face, and there MIGHT be some blood on some of them.
