The passive META
*Sigh* Why? Why? WHY?!? can't I just fight some actual aggresive/good players? Why does hammer have to much range? Why do hammer mains wait for you too attack and then punish? Why is this game like this? The game gets passive from gold and beyond. I've seen silvers play aggressively.. eh maybe not, but I'm tired of this jumping and spamming sair and waiting on Hammer (not only hammer, but lance, sword, scythe, and gautlets.) Why can't we fight like the "old days"? Sorry for complaining, but I'm really fed up fighting p'ass'-sives. I want dash to be implemented into the game permanentely. It wouldn't help much also it would take some time to get used to but I guess it's a slight change to passiveness, sorta.

People play passively because it works. And because it feels good to be the one punishing.

You don't need to look further. That's your "why". It's the Most Effective Tactic Available (the definition of META).

Yes it's boring, but some don't play to be not-bored, they play to win, and I can't fault them for doing that. The only reason I am not a passive player is precisely because I want to win against them, and mimicking a tactics means I can't beat it.

Well, I thank you for saying that
but I'm still fed up with it.

I think dash and changes to the dodge mechanics will address this issue sufficiently.

In the meantime, there is a lot to gain from fighting passive players if suffered with humor and patience. Because they try to be flawless in their spacing and timing, they force you to do the same. You can apply those principles to aggression.

dash in its "current form" with definetly not fix this... without a doubt it might make things worse if anything. it just promotes less actual dodging and more jumping/running away right now and some weapons which where still somewhat usable are completely out matched now.

Unfortunately passive play is actually viable. I feel u bro, I played a passive on experimental and Jesus dash helps so much. Can't wait for dash :)

It fixes the problem of people dodging and backdodging and flying around with all these invincibility frames. If you float around in the air, you can't dash. If you want to approach from the air, you need to dash jump. It's fun, try it. These mechanics absolutely do strengthen direct engagement as an approach.

If you feel some weapons are stronger than others with the dash mechanics, I somewhat agree, but the devs have already taken this into account and will rebalance as needed.

I've played a ton of experimental this season with a variety of legends and weapons and I don't see anything particularly broken.

i've played it plenty, all i run into are players jumping and running away more so than normal mode. battles take much longer. people run away or jump and throw out potshots. no one ever uses the back step dodge becouse its useless, you are too close to dodge and get hit or you're too far away to counter the whiff depending on the weapon. do you use katar and sword mains with this feature? its not broken but characters with range weapons have a much bigger advantage becouse running speed seems to be negated with dash, "slow" legends can stil zip and move around nearly as fast as "speed" characters. my only option for approch shouldn't only be from the air either. its really not a fun way to play. if anything id rather just stick with this current mode unless they really change how dash works so being brave and actually engaging more nets better results. i like more "fighting" in my fighting games, not running all over the map or waiting for crap to happen sorry.

i see a lot of ppl jumping around ,but they also attack a lot ,they are not passive (they are just using a lot of jumps to avoid attacks cuz they can't dodge to evade everything)

hehe you should see some of my replays then, i fought a thatch that did that the whole time, and everytime i get close with the katars they just don't seem to touch for some reason eventhough i clearly see it touch the character model. Other times ill hear the sound of a weapon hitting yet no knock back or stun. Sorry but im not supporting this mode right now. this is just laughable, i wish they'd stop trying to make the game more and more like melee or whatever.

passive is better for players that are getting spammed all the time

That's not that bad of an idea.

that's just lag
it's not about experimental features

I've found that katars are a lot easier to deal with, with the new dash mechanic.

dash surely changes the game balance
but he said he was hitting them (and he even heard the sound) ,but then they still had the same health and no stun XD

I think dash only help passive players. In the experimental mode, there are more passive players than before
